Gallops Report with the latest from Richard Hannon

Barney Roy beats Dream Castle
Barney Roy beats Dream Castle

Our gallops reporter has the latest from Richard Hannon's Lambourn base, where Barney Roy looked in tip-top shape ahead of his weekend assignment.

BARNEY ROY stretched out pleasingly in a swinging canter to complete his preparation for the Qipco Champion Stakes.

The Godolphin-owned colt is chilled and ready for his battle with Cracksman in the Ascot Group One.

Richard Hannon has indicated waiting tactics will be employed as James Doyle's mount tries to better his narrow defeat in the Juddmonte International Stakes.

GEORGE WILLIAM disappointed in the Hunt Cup in June but goes for the Balmoral Handicap fresh off a recent win.

Now that he has discovered his form he should run well under a penalty and he looked on good terms with himself in his midweek work.

THE GRAPE ESCAPE gives Hannon part of a powerful triple spearhead in Balmoral, and the three-year-old can give his mainly older rivals plenty to think about as he chases a hat-trick under a penalty.

Hannon seems hell bent on landed this race and his third runner OH THIS IS US has also worked well and is back in his comfort zone.
