Nick Grant reckons Sacred Path can make a late case for a Ribblesdale appearance at Royal Ascot with victory at Haydock on Friday. He has a tip for every race at every meeting.

Sacred Path can underline her hopes of being a lively outsider at Royal Ascot by winning at Haydock.

This Galileo filly is a full sister to some useful types, including Shantaram and Forever Now, but she looked all at sea on her initial start at Goodwood last month.

She made notable ground in the closing stages over 10 furlongs that day, snatching second place in the dying strides and eventually being beaten just a length by the winner.

John Gosden felt Sacred Path was good enough to merit a Ribblesdale entry at the Royal meeting.

So if she is going to take up that engagement, she really should be winning the Read Silvestre De Sousa At 188Bet "Confined" Fillies' Novice Stakes.

Presidential was beaten just a neck at Beverley on his most recent outing but can regain the winning thread in the 188Bet Cash Back If Brazil Win Handicap.

He bumped into a bit of a Westwood specialist that day and being 1lb wrong at the weights would hardly have helped in such a tight finish.

Presidential appeared to have delivered a winning challenge over seven and a half furlongs there, but given he ran out of gas a little at the finish, a switch back to six furlongs may be a good shout from Roger Fell.

The Last Emperor finished last season on a disappointing note at Salisbury but had done little wrong in two starts before that and, with Roger Varian's yard in good nick, it would be no surprise to see him bounce back with a bold effort in the Best Odds Guaranteed At 188Bet Handicap.

There should be more to come yet from Balestra, who goes for Tim Easterby in the Play Roulette At 188Bet Casino Handicap.

The ex-Charlie Hills-trained four-year-old is having his second outing for the North Yorkshire handler, and just his seventh career start in total.

Just a nominal rise in the weights for his strong-finishing victory at Catterick gives him an obvious chance and he has shown he handles quick conditions.

Angels can make it a double for Easterby, and bring up a hat-trick in the process, in the British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies' Handicap at Carlisle.

This Dark Angel filly has won two of her three starts, scoring at Ripon and Pontefract last month, impressing with the manner of her victory on both occasions.

The handicapper has certainly noticed Angels' ability and an opening mark of 85 is probably higher than Easterby would have liked, but certainly appears workable.

The record suggests Alsvinder does not win on turf but so well is he handicapped on grass compared to his all-weather mark that it must come right at some point, and the Thursby Handicap also at Carlisle is the latest chance.

Kadiz is fancied to break his duck in the Thorley Taverns Novice Stakes at Brighton.

The Richard Hughes-trained filly made a decent impression when beaten just half a length on her debut at Newmarket in April, but was disappointing after that on markedly different ground at Salisbury.

She returned on a quicker surface at Windsor last month and was much more like it. Sent off at 11/2, the Lope De Vega filly was niggled along from halfway, but stuck at it well, albeit finding winner Come On Leicester four and half lengths too good.

It should be pointed out, however, that her conqueror looks a Royal Ascot type, so the likelihood is there was no disgrace in that.
