Free horse racing selections for Friday January 19

Anita Chambers has a tip for every race in the UK and Ireland on Friday and expects Hugo Palmer to be among the winners.

Richard Guest has made no secret of the fact he regards Udontdodou as the best horse he has ever trained and he can keep up his winning run at Lingfield.

Guest is eyeing a trip to America with this five-year-old next month, so victory in the Betway Sprint Handicap would certainly contribute a nice chunk to his airfare.

Udontdodou has struck up quite the love affair with Chelmsford, winning three of his last four starts there, rising from a mark of 87 last June to his current perch of 102.

He did well to come from off the pace to win on his most recent outing at the Essex track, accounting for the admirable Boom The Groom by half a length over five furlongs.

The Fastnet Rock gelding is equally as capable over six furlongs, too, and while he has done the majority of his winning at Chelmsford, victories at Thirsk and Windsor show he is not just a one-trick pony.

Music Major ended 2017 in decent form and he can pick up the baton again in the Betway Handicap.

He has won two of his three starts over this 10-furlong trip, suffering a two-and-a-half-length defeat last time out when not enjoying the clearest of passages in what was a bit of a confused race.

A further 2lb hike for that defeat seems a touch harsh, but Music Major is in good form and will certainly appreciate conditions.

High Seas hails from the family of Fantastic Light and while she has been a bit disappointing so far, she can finally get off the mark in the 32Redsport.com Handicap at Newcastle.

Hugo Palmer switches up to a mile here after appearing to just lack an extra gear when fourth over seven furlongs at Wolverhampton.

The handicapper has also dropped her a couple of pounds, which is a further positive factor.

Nomorecalls can make it third time lucky in the 32Redsport.com Novice Stakes.

He appeared in need of the outing when beaten less than a length at Lingfield on his return from 213 days off the track at the start of the month and should strip fitter for that.

Impulsive Star has let down his supporters twice already this season but should be given a chance to redeem himself in the Daily Racing Specials At 188Bet Novices' Chase at Chepstow.

Neil Mulholland's runner was sent off favourite for last year's Pertemps Final at the Cheltenham Festival but was well beaten and he then suffered disappointment on his chasing bow, falling when in the lead at Catterick.

Returned to that venue on New Year's Day, Impulsive Star was beaten a head after again trying to make all but he should be able to win a race like this.

Greyed A can bring up a swift hat-trick in the Play Roulette At 188Bet Handicap Chase.

A comfortable winner on both of his last two starts at Fontwell, he did well to survive a bad mistake on the latter occasion and would probably have won by further than five lengths were it not for his blunder.

An 8lb rise is not ideal, but he seems to be firmly on an upward trajectory.

I'm To Blame looked a bit green but still managed to win on his debut at Catterick and he should be a fair bit wiser in the Gerry McGladery Celebrates 50 Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race at Musselburgh.
