Sky Bet Ebor in sights again for Sea The Lion

Jarlath Fahey is starting to prepare Sea The Lion for a second crack at the Sky Bet Ebor, following his fine third in York's prestigious handicap last August.

The County Kildare handler has yet to decide on a starting point for Sea The Lion, but any runs he has before the prized mile-and-three-quarter showpiece could be in England.

The Sea The Stars gelding was third to Muntahaa at York last season - on the back of three wins, the first at Leopoardstown in May.

"He's been cantering away about three weeks, and everything is fine with him," said Fahey.

"He's wintered very well and has done great. He had a nice long holiday. He was out shortly after York, so he had the best part of four of five months in the field.

"He's had a good break and freshen up that should stand him well for this season."

All roads will again lead to York for the eight-year-old this summer.

Fahey added: "I've nothing in mind for him at the minute - he's gone a bit high for the premier handicaps here.

"The possibility is he might have to go to England to run in those heritage handicaps somewhere along the way.

"The Ebor is the long-term objective again. We'll see how it goes before then."
