Simon Dow goes for a hat-trick in the last race at Epsom on Wednesday and Matt Brocklebank expects Silvestre De Sousa to deliver for the local trainer.
Sporting Life Daily Nap, April 24
RECUERDAME caught the eye in sixth at Kempton last month and it looks significant that he's since been kept fresh for a race his trainer has won for the past two seasons.
The Investec Private Banking Handicap at Epsom might not be an obvious race to target but Simon Dow does really well at his local course and it's also a pretty decent pointer that Silvestre De Sousa has been booked for the ride.
The champion jockey is fantastic around the twists and turns of Epsom and his record for Dow over the past five seasons reads two winners from just 10 rides.
The gelding won a four-runner race at Chelmsford from a mark of 65 in August and he's open to improvement as a turf handicapper having had just a couple of goes on the surface.
He's been dropped 1lb to 67 following the Kempton spin, when he travelled well, briefly hitting the front before tiring late on under a sympathetic ride once his chance had gone.
Recuerdame has another entry at Leicester on Saturday, suggesting Dow might be hoping to double up in the week, and stall two looks a kind draw over the extended mile on good ground on Wednesday.
