Sporting Life Daily Nap, Wednesday May 22

It’s fairly low-grade stuff at Yarmouth on Wednesday and the Lavish Hair Beauty Aesthetics Handicap (3.45) looks to be there for the taking, with NASEE strongly fancied to get off the mark.

A cast-off from Sir Michael Stoute, he showed that new trainer Ed Vaughan has plenty to work with when second soon after joining the yard a month ago, his first run on turf and first in a handicap.

Prior to it, he’d earned a rating of 61 running behind Pattern-class horses like Matterhorn and King Of Hearts in all-weather maidens and everything he’s done so far suggests a revised rating of 62 is well within his compass.

Not only should he strip fitter for his first run of 2019, but Nasee should also improve for a step up in trip, while the fact that Vaughan has had another month to get to know him can only help, too.

Stevie Donohoe’s booking is another positive – he’s 7-33 for the yard, 21 per cent and +20.32 to level stakes – but the kicker here is the absence of in-form opposition.

Johni Boxit ran well at Bath but must prove his stamina, Ember’s Glow has done his winning on artificial surfaces and the well-treated Widnes finds it hard to get his head in front.

That leaves Telekinetic as a likely danger in receipt of the best part of a stone, but this looks a golden opportunity for the top weight to get off the mark and he should be backed accordingly.
