Tom Dascombe's GENEVER DRAGON has the rare distinction of having brushed shoulders with superstar juvenile Pinatubo at Wolverhampton back in January and while he made little impression there, his two subsequent runs have displayed plenty of promise.
He was only beaten two and a half lengths when seventh of 11 in a warm novice event at Haydock before a pretty respectable third behind two exciting types at Doncaster last time out.
The winner of that race has gone in again since and has a rating of 90 so Genever Dragon's initial mark of 74 looks manageable on the face of it, while there are reasons to believe further improvement could be forthcoming.
Stepping up to a mile looks likely to suit based on what we've seen so far while the horse returns following a short break and a gelding operation.
First-time cheekpieces are also enlisted so while stall eight might not look ideal at first glance, if they head over towards the stands' side in the straight then he could just be in a decent position.
