Wadilsafa set for Ascot Shop Paradise Stakes according to Owen Burrows

Owen Burrows hopes Wadilsafa can use the Ascot Shop Paradise Stakes as a stepping stone towards a tilt at the Queen Anne Stakes at the Royal meeting.

The Lambourn trainer has earmarked the one-mile Listed prize at the Berkshire track on May 1 as the starting point for the son of Frankel, who signed off last season with victory at the same level at Sandown.

Burrows said: "Wadilsafa will go for the Paradise Stakes at Ascot - as long as the ground is safe. He will have a little penalty, but that shouldn't be a problem.

"The Lockinge is likely to come too quick afterwards, and I don't think we would go for that unless he did something electric.

"The obvious dream is the Queen Anne. But nothing is set in concrete, and we will have to see what he does on May 1 and make a plan after that."

A trip back to Newbury may be on the cards for stablemate Laraaib, after he finished third on his return in a Group Three contest at the track earlier this month.

Burrows added: "Laraaib has got the entry in the Yorkshire Cup, but we could go back to Newbury for the Al Rayyan Stakes (on May 18), although he would have to carry a little penalty in that.

"He ran a good race the other day and has come out of that fine. We could look at one of those two races, and then go for the Hardwicke (at Royal Ascot).

"Although he won a Group Three on soft ground, he has also won on good ground, so he goes on most ground."
