Brewin'Upastorm will not run in Saturday's Unibet Tolworth Hurdle and will instead head to Cheltenham for Trials Day later this month.
Trainer Olly Murphy admitted the Challow Hurdle fourth had been left in the Sandown Grade One as an oversight, with the Ballymore Classic Novices' Hurdle on January 26 his next target.
"I left him in the Tolworth by mistake, I thought I'd taken him out already," Murphy told Racing TV. "He's come out of Newbury very well. I told Richard Johnson to take his time and it was probably the wrong thing to do coming off a slow pace and I thought he finished his race out very strong and hit the line well.
"He's a horse to look forward to. We'll probably go to Cheltenham in three weeks for Trials Day and then we'll probably go for the two-five race in March.
"He's a horse with little experience, it was only his second run and it was in a Grade One. To be beaten just four lengths, I thought it was a good performance and he's a horse to look forward to."
