Breaking It Down: Thumb's up

Owner and professional punter Murt Khan heads to Warwick for the day's best bets.

2.50 Warwick - Thumb Stone Blues at 3/1

Robin of Locksley has come back to form with a vengeance since moving to Caroline Bailey.  He was travelling strongly and looking the likely winner when falling at Haydock.  He runs off 130 today and if getting a soft lead he will could take some pegging back.

Golden Doyen and The Tourad Man ran against each other at Aintree but both have a bit to do off their current marks.

Dragons Den showed up well for a long way at Cheltenham in December.  He comes into the race a fresh horse and could go well for a long way.

Thumb Stone Blues has been carefully campaigned by Kim Bailey this season.  He was heavily punted on last time and lost numerous lengths jumping out to left at most of his hurdles.  The form was boosted yesterday with San Satiro winning very cosily at Wincanton.

Now in a handicap going left handed against a few exposed types I think he warrants a play at 3/1 (Paddy Power, Stan James).

3.25 Warwick - Doitforthevillage at 5/2

Doitforthevillage has improved with nearly every start this year and been a real star for his connections.  Last time out he was creeping into the race nicely when stumbling just before the home turn at Aintree.  There is no reason to think he wouldn't have played a part in the finish.

Contre Tous is going for three wins in a row and is respected.  I'dliketheoption isn't the easiest to win with and I feel his jumping may be tested today.

Innocent Girl is a non-runner so Doitforthevillage is no bigger than 5/2 (General) now, but he's sure to give his running and in my opinion will take all the beating.

Review 4.40 Stratford

Nothing got into the race bar the two pace horses.  Baraza showed a willing attitude to run down Deise Vu.  The Wexfordian found things happening a bit too quickly when pace was injected in the race and finished a never nearer third.
