Owner and punter Murt Khan has two horses to keep a close eye on today plus reflections on Tuesday's tip.
Having delved through today's card it was hard to pinpoint a strong fancy so the advice is to the keep the powder dry and wait for better opportunities later in the week.
Below are two horses to note, but neither quite represent enough value for a bet, followed by a look back on yesterday's selection.
6.05 Brighton
MISU MONEYPENNY'S last five starts have been at Southwell and even though she won her first ever start there, she may not be enjoying the Fibresand of late.
Her last decent run was on the Polytrack at Lingfield off a 10lb higher mark in January when she stayed on well over five furlongs, eventually finishing fourth.
Today she is back on turf off a mark of 55 in a what is a poor contest. The market may be a guide to her chances but she is a fascinating runner in this weak event under Fran Berry (pictured).
4.35 Pontefract
STILL ON TOP was a very useful two-year-old for Tim Easterby in 2015. He had a really poor 2016 and dropped 21lb in the handicap over the space of just six runs.
Gelded over the winter, he made his seasonal debut at Ripon and ran a creditable fifth, showing he still retains some ability. The handicapper has relented once again and he runs off 72 this time. If putting his best foot forward he is entitled to go close.
Tuesday review - 4.50 Nottingham
It was a frustrating watch for backers of gamble STANARLEY PIC.
There was no pace in the race and he pulled very hard, blowing his chance early on. He will most likely be dropped a few pounds for this run and will be eligible to run in 0-60 handicaps. He's one to keep on the right side of.
Brigadoon had an easy time up front with favourite On Fire sitting on his tail throughout. On Fire found for plenty for pressure and hit the front a furlong and a half out. He was never in danger of getting caught and won reasonably cosily ahead of Brigadoon.
