Two of our racing team marked the first £1million edition of the Sky Bet Ebor by tipping the winner as we close in on an almighty August. Get details in Weekend Winners.

Ebor extra strong mint

Saturday's Sky Bet Ebor was the first renewal of the famous handicap worth seven figures, and both Ben Linfoot and Simon Holt marked the occasion by putting up the winner.

Mustajeer was in Linfoot's Value Bet staking plan at 16/1, while Holt went in at the same price as he capped a sensational week on the Knavesmire.

Holt put up 13/2 shot Valdermoro on Wednesday before doubling his stake on 14/1 winner What's The Story on Thursday, with the Ebor selection taking his returns for the festival to a massive +50.20pts.

An amazing August

Success for the racing team capped a magnificent month which included golf winners at 50/1 and 16/1, a 13/2 top batsman shout in the third Ashes Test and winners across all divisions of English football.

With our F1 Insider also putting up a winner at the Hungarian Grand Prix, the team as a whole are on for a three-figure profit for the month as we look to end the year in style.

Coming up this week, the F1 Insider returns for Belgium, we've golf tips in Switzerland, more football coverage and a look at the Beverley Bullet and supporting action from the weekend racing team.

Turning the screw (it's an Archimedes thing)

It was a fairly quiet weekend for Sky Bet when it comes to forking out - until one punter took them to the cleaners with an astonishing Sunday wager.

Sunil placed a 50p win Canadian on Sunday's racing, a bet which encompasses five selections and, in this case, five winners.

It started in the best possible fashion with a 25/1 smash-up at Goodwood, which was soon supplemented by an 11/2 chance at Yarmouth before the customer in question waited almost two hours for his third selection to run.

When Suedois did the business, it was another hour's wait until Spanish City also went in, and then came Archimedes in the final race at Beverley.

All told it was five selections over four hours which turned £13 into almost £25,000. Sensational.
