The Columbus Blue Jackets rallied from 4-1 down to snatch victory from the Detroit Red Wings in overtime and take a step closer to clinching a spot in the NHL play-offs.

Artemi Panarin levelled up with less than three minutes remaining of the third period to force the crucial game out of regulation.

Columbus' startling fightback was sealed with a tiebreaker from Pierre-Luc Dubois, whose goal took the Blues to 5-4 and a point away from a wildcard berth.

The New Jersey Devils also came within snatching distance of their first spot in the play-offs since 2012 with a 5-2 win over the New York Rangers.

The Devils shored up a three-point surplus by the time the Rangers got on the scoreboard in the final minutes of the first period.

Two more for New Jersey in the second meant they were well clear of their guests by the time they scored again in the third.

  • Boston Bruins - 11/2
  • Tampa Bay Lightning - 11/2
  • Vegas Golden Knights - 9/1
  • Winnipeg Jets - 9/1
  • Washington Capitals - 11/1
  • Toronto Maple Leafs - 12/1
  • Pittsburgh Penguins - 12/1
  • San Jose Sharks - 14/1

Tampa Bay Lightning shut out the Boston Bruins to beat them 4-0 and make them wait to seal the Atlantic Division title.

Andrei Vasilevskiy made 33 saves to prevent Boston from assailing their lead, leaving the two teams tied at the top of the table.

The Winnipeg Jets celebrated their 50th win of the season and came within three points of Central Division leaders the Nashville Predators with a 5-4 overtime victory over the Montreal Canadiens.

The Predators were beaten 2-1 by the Florida Panthers after a tying goal by Filip Forsberg with 0.6 seconds left was disallowed due to interference between players around the goal.

The New York Islanders edged out the Philadelphia Flyers 5-4 in overtime, denying the Phillies an advance on a play-off berth.

Elsewhere, the Vegas Golden Knights edged out the Vancouver Canucks 5-4 in a shootout, while the San Jose Sharks lost to the Dallas Stars 4-2 and the Calgary Flames were beaten 4-1 by the Arizona Coyotes.
