Dina Asher-Smith second in Zurich Diamond League meeting


European champion Dina Asher-Smith had to settle for second place in the women's 100 metres at the prestigious Weltklasse Zurich Diamond League meeting on Thursday night.

Londoner Asher-Smith, who won European 100m, 200m and 4x100m gold in Berlin earlier this month, clocked 11.08 seconds as Murielle Ahoure of the Ivory Coast won in 11.01secs.

Third was Marie-Josee Ta Lou of the Ivory Coast in 11.10.

The time was down on Asher-Smith's personal best of 10.85 set in winning gold in Berlin.

Asher-Smith returned to the track for the women's 4x100m relay, anchoring the Great Britain team of Asha Philip, Imani Lansiquot and Bianca Williams to victory.

Matthew Hudson-Smith, another British gold medallist in Berlin, was third in the men's 400m in 44.95 as Fred Kerley of the United States won in 44.80.

Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake was eighth in the men's 200m in 20.53 as American Noah Lyles won in 19.67.

Eilidh Doyle was fifth in the women's 400m hurdles in 55.05 as Dalilah Muhammad of the United States triumphed in 53.88.

Caster Semenya of South Africa won the women's 800m in 1:55.27.
