Greyhound racing tips & selections: Thursday June 29

BEST BET: Huarache Scotty (T3, 8.52 Hove)

NEXT BEST: Droopys Griezman (T1, 8.19 Hove)

TREBLE: Ballymac Victor (T4, 9.15 Belle Vue)

We have open action at Hove to focus on this evening, which hosts another excellent card with several competitive races alongside the usual RPGTV action from Belle Vue.

Huarache Scotty (T3) was deemed good enough to compete in the Greyhound Derby and faced some tough opposition, including eventual semi-finalists Fweshfromthesesh and Coolavanny Mason in a hot first round heat.   

He has since run very well when second at Swindon and then had little chance here last week when faced with plenty of trouble at the second bend.   

Kevin Hutton’s charge is fancied to bounce back at 8.52 and give the Towcester-based handler a welcome boost before a big night at his local track on Saturday evening.

Earlier in the card, Paul Young’s Droopys Griezman (T1) has a perfect make up back in the red jacket and the fast-starter could prove tough to reel in if he can avoid trouble at 8.19.

The August ’15 whelp continues to go well for the master handler and should appreciate a drop back in distance to 475m. He is capable of some very fast split times on his day and was unlucky to be bumped at the first bend here seven days ago.

We have one bet at Belle Vue to finalise proceedings, and Ballymac Victor (T4) could send the punters home happy from the Manchester track at 9.15.  

The four-year-old remains relatively unexposed over this sort of distance and has been unlucky in second the last twice, including here last month when just beaten by the progressive Blackstone Lyric.

Ballymac Victor had his first run for a month here five days ago, and that is expected to have put him spot on for this assessment.
