Greyhound racing tips & selections: Tuesday May 30

BEST BET: Mexican Peso (T6, 7.58 Sheffield)

NEXT BEST: Swift Bosch (T1, 7.26 Sheffield)

TREBLE: Pollys Pim (T1, 9.15 Harlow)

We have limited open races at Sheffield and Harlow this evening but there is still plenty of competitive stuff at both venues and the aforementioned provides us with the two best opportunities of the day. 

The versatile Mexican Peso (T6) only found the talented Early Mist too good at Newcastle last week over a much shorter distance and a return to this 660m distance at 7.58 looks to be a shrewd move by Elaine Parker and connections. 

The Kinloch Brae dog only lost out to Swift Hansel on his last try over this course and distance last month and that rival franked the form by winning on Sky at Kinsley just a fortnight later. 

The evening could get off to an excellent start just a few minutes earlier at 7.26 when Swift Bosch (T1) attempts to make it three wins from his last four in the puppy event. 

He has shown excellent early pace in most of his career attempts so far and his shorter-priced kennelmate never looked like threatening him at this venue 10 days ago. 

A repeat would make the July ’15 whelp tough to stop and another draw in the red jacket only boosts confidence in the selection.

Over at Harlow, Pollys Pim (T1) rates as nap material on the card for David Pruhs in what looks to be a winnable contest at 9.15.

The progressive bitch is relatively new to the staying discipline, but has long shaped as though going up in trip would suit and she proved that last week when recording an impressive success in maiden company, recording a solid time of 37.60 over this 592m distance (calculated) in the process.
