Day four report

Ryan Armour secured a maiden PGA Tour title by easing to a five-stroke victory at the Sanderson Farms Championship.

The 41-year-old took a five-shot lead in to the final round in Mississippi and never lost his advantage on Sunday, posting a four-under 68 at Country Club of Jackson to maintain his cushion over nearest challenger Chesson Hadley.

Jonathon Randolph claimed third after a final-round 67, with Smylie Kaufman, Brian Stuard and Scott Strohmeyer a further stroke back on 10 under and in a share of fourth.

Armour extended his overnight advantage with a close-range gain at the second and adding a 10-footer at the next, before draining a birdie from double the distance at the par-three seventh.

A missed par-save from six feet at the ninth was cancelled out by a 15-foot gain at the par-five 11th, as Hadley closed the gap by following a birdie at the 12th with an eagle-three at the next.

Armour had birdied the par-five but briefly saw his advantage cut to four with a three-putt bogey at the 16th, only to drain a 45-footer at the next and post a two-putt par at the last to complete his win.

Hadley completed a second successive 68 to secure runner-spot and his best PGA Tour finish since 2014, as Randolph moved up the leaderboard with seven birdies over his first nine holes.

Ireland's Seamus Power carded a three-over 75 to end the week tied-18th, while William McGirt - the only player in the world's top 100 in action this week - finished in the group on five under.

Day three report

American Ryan Armour carded a third round of 67 to move five shots clear of the chasing pack at the Sanderson Farms Championship.

The 41-year-old dropped shots on three consecutive holes - the 5th, 6th and 7th - but recovered on the back nine capped off with a 57-foot putt on the par-4 16th to sit at 15 under for the tournament.

Armour is odds-on at 1/2 with Sky Bet to remain ahead at the end of the final round.

Chesson Hadley (6/1 second-favourite) went round in 68 to move up to second in Mississippi, with five tied in third place at nine under.

Among them is Irishman Seamus Power (16/1), whose third round started strongly with two birdies but he dropped shots on the 7th and 8th.

Two bogeys and three birdies on the back nine meant the 30-year-old chalked up 71 for the round and is still in contention ahead of tomorrow's final day.

With the top 50 in the world eligible to compete in the WGC-HSBC Champions in China, the top ranking player in the field is world number 75 William McGirt, who sits tied for 23rd on five under.

Day two report

Ireland's Seamus Power was two shots off the lead with two holes remaining when play was suspended for the day at the Sanderson Farms Championship.

The 30-year-old, who partnered Padraig Harrington at last summer's Olympics, followed his opening 68 with five birdies against a single bogey over the 16 holes he was able to complete at CC of Jackson.

Power - who was well placed on the 17th fairway when the hooter sounded - lies two shots off leader Ryan Armour, with the American having completed a 68 for a 10 under halfway total.

Power can be backed at 10/1 with Sky Bet for the victory and Armour is available as favourite at 9/2.

With the top 50 in the world eligible to compete in the WGC-HSBC Champions in China, the top ranking player in the field is world number 75 William McGirt, who sits tied for 34th on three under.

Armour is a shot clear of South African Tyrone van Aswegen, who enjoyed a round of 65. Former US Ryder Cup player Vaughn Taylor is level with Power after carding a 66.

Power was the only player with holes remaining who looked likely to challenge Armour for the halfway lead.

Day one report

Ireland's Seamus Power is two shots off the pace after day one of the Sanderson Farms Championship after carding a four-under round of 68 and he is a 33/1 shot with Sky Bet to lift the trophy on Sunday.

Power, 30, is hoping to take advantage of a weakened field in Mississippi as he looks to continue the streak of first-time winners in the tournament.

With the top 50 in the world eligible to compete in the WGC-HSBC Champions in China, the top ranking player in the field is world number 75 William McGirt, who sits tied for 32nd at two under and is 40/1 for the tournament.

Power only dropped a single shot - on the 15th - and holed three birdies on the front nine to put himself in the mix.

Five Americans lead the field after scoring 66 on the first round - Ryan Armour (16/1), Andrew Landry (10/1 joint favourite), Conrad Shindler (25/1), J.J Spaun (16/1) and Wyndham Clark (33/1) - with 23-year-old Clark hitting five birdies in row on the back nine to put himself in contention.

Four players from the States sit tied for sixth at five under, while the top placed British interest is David Skinns (300/1), who went round in 70, with birdies on the 11th, 14th and 17th, but stopping a shot on the 12th.
