World Cup 2018: Ranking & latest odds on all 32 teams after first group games in Russia

After the conclusion of the first round of group games at the 2018 World Cup, we give the Power Rankings a reshuffle based on what we have seen so far.

We have had hat-tricks, thrashings and a couple of surprise results so far to make for an interesting tournament in Russia.

Who are the teams to beat now?

Here's our latest Power Rankings for the World Cup with their latest odds to win the trophy, via Sky Bet, with their movement from the pre-tournament edition in brackets.

1. (1) Brazil - 9/2
The tournament favourites may have started with an unconvincing draw, but the best teams still grind out results when playing poorly and this could be the case here. Philippe Coutinho provided a moment of inspiration with one of the goals of the tournament so far and Brazil coach Tite has appeared to find the perfect role for him in this side. They will be hoping to pick up some momentum in their remaining group stages and next up is Costa Rica on Friday (June 22).

2. (3) Spain - 9/2
Just a draw for the Spanish too, but after all their pre-tournament upheaval that's not a bad return against Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal. They played their Iberian rivals off the park for most of the match and you can't really legislate for a David de Gea howler, penalty and wonder free kick against you.

3. (5) Belgium - 8/1
Panama provided pretty poor opposition, but still there was plenty to like about Belgium's opening run-out. Given how other big teams struggled they looked well balanced and dangerous going forward - they look ready to go deep in Russia.

4. (4) France - 13/2
Les Bleus may be a bit higher here than their performance deserved but Australia are tough opposition, and France did look a big threat in the early stages of the game. They were fortunate to get the win but they've enough talent to be a big danger if they can put it all together.

5. (10) England - 12/1
It's probably a good thing for England's expectations that they didn't convert all those chances early on as a 5-0 win over Tunisia would've put the hype train into overdrive. Still, there was enough evidence that the Three Lions will provide a big test for anyone when they get into the knockout stages. Ironically they look better set up to play bigger sides who they can hit on the break than a minnow who'll pack the defence.

6. (9) Portugal - 20/1
Very much Ronaldo's team, as was proved against Spain when the great man single-handedly salvaged a point with an incredible free kick. That aside, they won an early penalty and profited from the lesser-spotted De Gea blunder when largely being outplayed by the Spanish. They're not a great team but they're a tournament team with perhaps the greatest ever player in their ranks - they need to be respected.

7. (17) Mexico - 50/1
So much to like about their win over defending champions Germany. Mexico are not minnows, they're World Cup regulars who usually make it out of their group, but don't go much further than that - this could be a year that changes.

8. (12) Croatia - 28/1
Their win over Nigeria was largely lost but it was a routine victory and they barely had to step out of second gear. There's quality all over this team and they could easily make the last eight.

9. (7) Argentina - 11/1
Bitterly disappointing effort against Iceland, who were well worth their point in the end. They play Croatia next and that's now a must-win as otherwise they'll not only struggle to win the group they'd be in danger of actually failing to get out of it.

10. (2) Germany - 8/1
Recent defending champions have a poor record and even the Germans don't seem immune to that curse. A huge drop from second after a lacklustre outing against Mexico when not just the result but the performance left a lot to be desired. They've got a lot of questions to answer against Sweden.

11. (6) Uruguay - 22/1
Three points against Egypt but not without a bit of a struggle. Saying that, had Luis Suarez had his shooting boots they'd have won by three or four. Edinson Cavani was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet and their defence looked pretty solid - they still look fine to make a decent challenge.

12. (20) Iceland - 2501/1
These Vikings are developing into quite a tournament team. They didn't just defend against Argentina, they pressed high at times and won possession back in Argentina's third of the pitch, and had enough technical ability to carve out chances. It's still an uphill battle to qualify but they're more fancied now than before.

13. (8) Colombia - 66/1
I've got them ranked a few places above Japan despite losing due to going down to ten men in the very early stages. They managed the game pretty well considering they had a man less and James Rodriguez wasn't fit enough to start.

14. (16) Switzerland - 100/1
It was backs to the wall stuff for the Swiss against Brazil early on, but they held their nerve and managed to get back into the game in the second half. Defensive organisation will take you a long way in major tournaments and Switzerland showed they'll prove a tough nut to crack.

15. (28) Russia - 40/1
I'm still not sold on the hosts despite eight goals in two wins, given they've faced the shocking Saudis and a clearly unfit Salah for Egypt as opposition. The fixture list has done them a huge favour but we'll see just how good they are against Uruguay, but for me they'll be second round casualties as they'll probably face Portugal or Spain.

16. (21) Senegal - 100/1
A good win over Poland to start off with and a decent balance in the side with plenty of power and pace to call on. Still have some work to do to get out of the group.

17. (13) Serbia - 100/1
They showed some decent touches and had Mitrovic's radar been on they'd have beaten Costa Rica by more than just 1-0. Next game against the Swiss will tell us a lot.

18. (18) Sweden - 150/1
A 1-0 penalty win against South Korea hardly sparkled, and they were functional at best but offered little more than that in what was a poor game.

19. (29) Japan - 250/1
Energy in abundance and a few talented players trying to pull the strings. Still undecided about if they'll get out of Group H though.

20. (30) Australia - 1000/1
As tough as we expected them to be, the Aussies took no prisoners against France but also carved out a surprising number of chances. They've now got a great chance of upsetting the odds and qualifying.

21. (14) Denmark - 80/1
Similar to Sweden in that Denmark functioned well as a team but didn't have that spark and had to ride their luck to beat Peru. Next game against the Socceroos will be pivotal.

22. (11) Poland - 150/1
Hugely disappointing in their Senegal defeat when they just couldn't get Robert Lewandowski involved enough. It was a disjointed display and they badly missed centre back and leader Kamil Glik, who'll also sit out their next game against Colombia. They'll need to find a solution.

23. (26) Costa Rica - 2500/1
A touch unlucky against Serbia but they also could have conceded a few more goals. They don't look the same side who made the quarter-finals in Brazil.

24. (19) Morocco - 2000/1
Dominated against Iran but suffered a heartbreaking injury time loss with an own goal. They had plenty of attacking pace and skill though and may face getting an upset result against Portugal.

25. (25) Tunisia - 1500/1
No too much to right home about in the first half but they improved markedly when opting for a more defensive set-up in the second half. Had a few glimpses but not much apart from that.

26. (23) Iran - 1000/1
Defensively pretty solid but they didn't have a shot on target in the second half against Morocco - that tells you all you need to know about this team. They do, however, have three points on the board.

27. (24) Peru - 250/1
Pace and energy are two words you'd use for Peru - but they were left to rue missing a penalty against the Danes in a defeat that'll be hard to get over.

28. (15) Egypt - 2000/1
Mo Salah's injury has scuppered their chances. When you've got such a superstar in your team and he isn't fit then this is what happens.

29. (22) Nigeria - 500/1
Much of a muchness in their defeat against Croatia. Can't see them getting out of their group.

30. (27) South Korea - 1500/1
Again not much positive to say about the South Koreans after defeat to Sweden. They weren't horrible but will struggle to do any better against Germany and Mexico.

31. (31) Panama - 2500/1
Seemed delighted to be at the World Cup but never looked likely to hurt Belgium - their crowning glory will be scoring a goal.

32. (32) Saudi Arabia - 2500/1
Simply poor. No real organisation or gameplan and it will onyl get worse from here.
