Nabil Fekir and Mateo Kovacic could complete Premier League transfers before Deadline Day, according to the back pages.

The Sun

  • Nabil Fekir has been left out of Lyon's squad to face Chelsea on Tuesday amid reports that he is about to complete a move to Stamford Bridge.
  • Mateo Kovacic is refusing to train with, or play for, Real Madrid again as he tries to force a move to Chelsea before the summer window closes.
  • Juventus midfielder Stefano Sturaro is keen on a move to West Ham, and is reported to be available for a fee of around £18m.
  • Reiss Nelson is set to sign a bumper new contract to commit his long-term future to Arsenal.
  • Fraser Forster is set to quit Southampton, with Turkish sides Besiktas and Fenerbahce reportedly interested in the England goalkeeper.
  • Harry Kane is "disappointed" with his World Cup - despite captaining England to their best Finals for 28 years and winning the Golden Boot.
  • Harry Arter has told Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe: "Play me - or let me go."

  • Leicester City have told Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire is not for sale at any price.
  • Chelsea will look to Leicester's Kasper Schmeichel, AC Milan's Pepe Reina and Sevilla's Sergio Rico as possible replacements for AWOL goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, along with £25m-rated Jack Butland.

  • Leicester City are closing on a £13m deal to sign Dinamo Zagreb defender Filip Benkovic.
  • Manager Gary Bowyer walked out on Blackpool just one game into the season after losing patience with the club's controversial owner Owen Oyston.
  • Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has sent an angry letter to the secretary of state for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Jeremy Wright, claiming he has been turned into a "pantomime villain" by Newcastle MP Chi Onwurah's petition against him.
  • Huddersfield Town are in talks over a proposed £13.5m deal for Belgian winger Isaac Mbenza.
  • Mauricio Pochettino is not ruling out England duo Harry Kane and Dele Alli for Saturday's season opener at Newcastle.
  • Cardiff City have expressed an interest in signing former Manchester City and Middlesbrough striker Alvaro Negredo.

  • Manchester United have made a "take it or leave it" £40m offer to Tottenham for Toby Alderweireld.
  • Yannick Bolasie could be heading back to Crystal Palace after he was told he can leave Everton.
  • West Ham are hoping a midfield transfer merry-go-round involving Luka Modric and Matias Vecino will see them able to sign Chelsea's Danny Drinkwater.
  • Lyon believe they are in position to hijack Everton's move for Barcelona centre-back Yerry Mina.
  • Bayer Leverkusen forward Leon Bailey has claimed Chelsea and Liverpool want to sign him.
  • Kyle Walker believes rising star Phil Foden is heading for the top because Pep Guardiola will not allow him to be "swallowed up" by England recognition too soon.
  • Danny Rose has insisted his Spurs side are not afraid of anyone in the top six, despite their Premier League rivals spending big this summer.

  • Crystal Palace have had no official contact yet this summer window from other Premier League clubs for Wilfried Zaha, and would regard any attempt now to sign the player before Thursday's 5pm close of the window as having come too late.
  • Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City staff are considering whether to ask John Stones to play as a holding midfielder more regularly this season.

  • Manchester United have added Uruguay international Jose Gimenez, who plays for Atletico Madrid, to their list of possible defensive recruits.

The Times

  • Paul Pogba's relationship with Jose Mourinho is under strain again. The Manchester United and France midfielder is thought to be upset with his manager's assessment of his performances during the World Cup.
