In more promising news for the north Londoners, who have been busy in the transfer market so far, Lucas Torreira will have a medical with the Gunners after Uruguay's participation in the World Cup is over, according to his father.
“I want the best for my son and I also know that Arsenal showed a lot of interest in him,” Ricardo told Radio Crc as quoted by Football Italia.
“It’s not done, neither is it official, because he hasn’t signed anything, but there’s a great chance that Lucas’ future will be in England.
“There was no problem in the negotiations, and the latest is that as soon as the World Cup ends, he’ll go to London for a medical.”

Patrick Vieira's coaching career at Nice has got off to a rocky start, with strikers Mario Balotelli and Alassane Plea failing to show up for the first day of pre-season training Monday.
Balotelli top scored for Nice last season with 18 goals, while Plea netted 16. Both have been linked with moves away from the club this summer, with Premier League West Ham reportedly keen on signing Plea and Balotelli a target for French league rival Marseille.
