Liverpool want to sign Swiss attacker Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City, according to The Mirror.

The 26-year-old has a relegation release clause in his Potters contract at around £12m and the Champions League finalists have apparently expressed their interest, while Everton and Roma are also said to be monitoring his situation.

Shaqiri is 7/2 with Sky Bet to be Switzerland's top goalscorer at this summer's World Cup and the online bookmaker price him at 5/4 to sign for the Reds in the current transfer window.

Manchester United remain hopeful of retaining the services of Marouane Fellaini despite the player's apparent desire to leave the club.

It is understood Fellaini is now all-but set to end his five-year stint at Old Trafford and join a rival club when his contract expires at the end of the month.

But it is believed United are still keen to get the Belgium midfielder tied down to a new deal, with an offer remaining on the table to keep him.

Fellaini (pictured, above) started just two Premier League games since the turn of the year and has been linked with a move away for some time.

An unnamed top-six Premier League side is understood to have shown firm interest in signing the 30-year-old on a free transfer, with Fellaini now seemingly swayed by the offer of more regular football.

That club is reportedly Arsenal, who are 5/4 favourites to secure his signature, United are 7/4 to keep him while AC Milan are 8/1 to bring him to the San Siro this summer.

Bernd Leno is free to leave Bayer Leverkusen, according to sporting director Rudi Voller, but only on the club’s terms, reports Bild.

The goalkeeper is a target for Arsenal and Napoli, and will be allowed to leave the BayArena after Leverkusen brought in Lukas Hradecky as his replacement.

They've already made two signings this summer, but L’Equipe says that Manchester United are looking to bring in Sevilla defender Clement Lenglet.

The 22-year-old, who has a £30.7m release clause, has been heavily linked with Barcelona but United are looking to steal a march on the La Liga champions.

Jorginho: The Napoli midfielder is bound for Manchester City
Jorginho: The Napoli midfielder is a target for Manchester City

Manchester City have denied making a second bid for Napoli midfielder Jorginho.

Sky in Italy claim the Premier League champions have made a fresh offer of £41.2m, plus between £4.4m and £5.3m in add-ons.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis said on Sunday that they had rejected a bid just shy of £44m (£39.5m + £4.4m add-on) from City for the player.

Reports say that City are unwilling to wait more than a week for a response and may already have an alternative target ready should the deal fall through.

Staying with Manchester City and Juventus are not willing to negotiate the transfer of City target Miralem Pjanic for less than €80m, reports Tuttosport.

The 29-year-old Bosnia international is believed to be a target for Barcelona as well as the Premier League champions.

The Sun claim City have had a €50m bid for Pjanic (pictured, below) rejected by the Serie A champions.

Miralem Pjanic could be off to Manchester City

Sky Sports claim that Scunthorpe United's Hakeeb Adelakun has told the club he will not be renewing his contract and will leave this summer.

Championship clubs Nottingham Forest, Hull City and Sunderland are all interested in signing the young winger.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are set to battle it out for the signature of Brazilian winger Rodrygo, reports MARCA.

The 17-year-old plays for Santos - Neymar’s former club - and reportedly has a release clause set at €50m.

Connor Goldson celebrates
Connor Goldson could be heading to Rangers

Sky Sports understand Rangers have agreed a fee with Brighton in the region of £3m for defender Connor Goldson. Personal terms are still to be agreed and a medical still needs to take place.

Rangers are also close to agreeing a season-long loan deal for Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria. The deal should be completed next week.

Finally, Graeme Murty will resume his role as Rangers Under 20s coach. Murty replaced Pedro Caixinha as interim manager in October before being relieved of first team duties in April after a 5-0 defeat to Celtic at Celtic Park.

Le 10 Sport says that Brazilian midfielder Thiago Maia is wanted by Newcastle United

The Magpies are understood to have approached his club, Lille, about the possibility of signing the 21-year-old.

The Ligue 1 side, however, have indicated that Maia is not for sale.

Manchester United could turn their attentions to signing Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld next after landing Fred, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Alderweireld, on international duty with Belgium, has hinted he has an idea where he wants to play next season.

The 29-year-old has two years remaining on his contract at Spurs and has admitted he could be prevented from leaving White Hart Lane.

“I have another two years [on my] contract," he is quoted by de Zondag. “Tottenham decides about my future. Of course, I have my own idea. But that is not the case now.”

The Mirror claim Jonny Evans is another player heading for the exit-door at The Hawthorns.

Leicester are reported to have opened talks with the defender, who is understood to have given up on a switch to Manchester City.

Premier League champions City were linked with the Northern Ireland international in the January transfer window but a move failed to materialise.

The move is set to cost the former Premier League champions just £3.5m.

Liverpool are considering moving for Nigeria international Moses Simon, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Jurgen Klopp is looking to bolster his attacking options at Anfield and could swoop for the Gent winger this summer.

Pascal Gross celebrates

And finally, Pascal Gross (pictured, above) has signed a contract extension at Brighton until 2022.

The German midfielder scored seven goals last season as the Seagulls retained their Premier League status.

Gross, who joined Brighton last summer from Ingolstadt, told the club's website: "I'm very pleased to get the new deal done.

"I think we had a very hard year last season and I'm happy to commit my future to the club - it's a very special day for me."
