Nottingham Forest to beat Bristol City (Sky Bet Championship)

Aitor Karanka has recruited impressively at Nottingham Forest ahead of his first full season at the club, where big things are expected and they are rightfully up there in the betting for promotion. Karanka's sides are usually hard to beat and they should get off to a winning start against a Bristol City outfit which lost several key players this summer.

Preston to beat QPR (Sky Bet Championship)

Preston came close to mounting a late play-off charge last season and, despite losing Greg Cunningham to Cardiff, Alex Neil has kept the majority of his side together while making some promising additions. More worryingly on the other side, QPR's odds for relegation have shortened and they have been inactive in the transfer market. Going on what we have seen this summer you would not back them to improve on last season's 16th place finish under Steve McClaren and we expect them to make a losing start to a long campaign.

Peterborough to beat Bristol Rovers (Sky Bet League One)

Steve Evans has put together a strong-looking Posh side ahead of his first full season in charge and they will surely be up there this term, especially having managed to replace Jack Marriott's goals with the threat posed by Jason Cummings. They came close to a play-off spot last term and Evans has added over 14 players to his ranks in an attempt to take them back to the second tier. It starts with a win.

Notts County to beat Colchester (Sky Bet League Two)

Notts County are tipped to win Sky Bet League Two in our season preview and we expect them to get off to winning ways here. Last season's beaten play-off semi-finalists have strengthened their ranks with additions reaching double figures and Kevin Nolan looks to be putting together a promising side at Meadow Lane. Colchester have had a busy summer of comings and goings, but we expect the Magpies to be too strong for them on the opening day.
