Luton moved to the top of Sky Bet League Two on goal difference with a 2-0 win over bottom club Barnet at Kenilworth Road.

The Hatters made the most of Accrington, now with two matches in hand, not being in action to see off the struggling Bees, who had manager Martin Allen back in charge for a fifth spell.

Following a goalless first half, Luton made the breakthrough just two minutes after the restart when Danny Hylton headed in from close range.

Any real hopes of Barnet salvaging something from the match ended when the Hatters' top scorer James Collins made it 2-0 after 67 minutes.

Defeat leaves the Bees seven points adrift at the bottom of the table with seven matches left to play.

Marc McNulty scored a second-half hat-trick as Coventry continued their Sky Bet League Two play-off push with a 4-0 home win over struggling Grimsby.

The Sky Blues went in front after 38 minutes when Peter Vincenti nodded in from a free-kick.

McNulty added a second in the 56th minute before heading home a third and he completed his treble when lashing in a half-volley into the top corner with three minutes left.

Wycombe, though, missed the chance to put pressure on the top two as they were held to a goalless draw at home by relegation battlers Port Vale.

Exeter remain above Coventry in fifth place after coming from behind to beat Swindon 3-1 at St James Park.

Kaiyne Woolery had put Town in front from close range after 27 minutes.

Exeter equalised in the 33rd minute through Jake Taylor and took the lead when Pierce Sweeney converted a penalty just before half-time. Jayden Stockley added a late third.

Ten-man Mansfield, however, lost ground following a 2-0 away defeat at relegation battlers Forest Green Rovers.

Reuben Reid broke the deadlock after 54 minutes, with Dayle Grubb adding a late second.

Stags defender Krystian Pearce was sent off for a second yellow card with six minutes left.

Harry Pell scored twice in the opening 12 minutes and Mohamed Eisa also grabbed a brace as Cheltenham won 5-3 at Crawley.

Midfielder Pell fired the visitors in front after just six minutes with a 25-yard effort - and soon doubled their lead when he knocked in the rebound after his penalty had been saved.

Eisa added a third just before half-time, then chalked up his 20th goal of the season soon after the restart.

Karlan Ahearne-Grant scored what looked just a consolation goal for the home side after 50 minutes, before Will Boyle swiftly headed in Cheltenham's fifth from a corner.

On the hour, Eisa was denied a hat-trick when his curling shot came back off the post.

Crawley then pulled another goal back when Panutche Camara headed in with 18 minutes left, with defender Lewis Young netting a late third.

Cambridge fought back to earn a 1-1 draw at Carlisle.

The home side took the lead early in the second half through Richie Bennett, but the U's were soon level when George Maris headed in after 50 minutes.

Crewe won 2-1 at Newport with goals in each half from Harry McKirdy and Jordan Bowery.

Defender Mickey Demetriou headed in a late consolation for the hosts.

Mikael Mandron's strike after 27 minutes was enough to give Colchester a 1-0 win at Stevenage, while it finished goalless between Morecambe and Lincoln, who remain just outside the play-off places.

On Sunday, Chesterfield boosted their Sky Bet League Two survival hopes with a convincing 3-1 victory over promotion-chasing Notts County in an entertaining local derby.

A first-half performance which defied the League Two table saw 23rd-placed Chesterfield go 2-0 up thanks to goals from Sid Nelson (16) and Zavon Hines (39).

No side in the top four divisions have conceded more second-half goals than Chesterfield, and County ensured for a nervy finish when Daniel Jones' free-kick from out wide bounced into the far corner (85).

However, in the eighth of nine stoppage-time minutes, Kristian Dennis put the result beyond doubt from the penalty spot, with the victory leaving Chesterfield just three points behind Grimsby with two games in hand. County, meanwhile, remain four points off the automatic promotion spots in fourth.
