Sky Bet League One round-up: Bradford City record big win


It was a high scoring day in Sky Bet League One, as all 12 games produced goals, including two games that produced 3-0 score lines and another 4-0..

Doncaster Rovers moved into the play-off places with a 3-0 home win over Scunthorpe United, who now sit just a place and a point outside of the relegation zone.

Benjamin Whiteman and Herbie Kane both struck in the first half, with John Marquis securing all three points for the home side on 85 minutes. Rovers are now 4/1 to be promoted this season.

Luton Town are up to second as their fine form continued at Coventry. Matty Pearson and James Collins gave the a 2-1 win, as Jonson Clarke-Harris' 95th minute penatly was pure consolation for the home side.

Promotion rivals Barnsley and Portsmouth played out a 1-1 draw at Oakwell as Cauley Woodrow and Gareth Evans scored for their respective sides.

Goals either side of half time from Adam Matthews and Josh Maja gave Sunderland a 2-1 home win over in trouble Bristol Rovers. Sunderland are now 8/13 to be promoted, while Rovers are 5/6 to be relegated.

At the other end of the table Bradford City secured both the biggest win of the day and their largest of the season, as they put four past Walsall in a 4-0 victory at Valley Parade.

A David Ball brace and goals from Paul Caddis and Eoin Doyle brought light on a murky day in West Yorkshire and move the club three points from safety.

Fellow struggles AFC Wimbledon are at the foot off the table, as they lost 2-0 to promotion chasing Charlton, whose goals came from Lyle Taylor and Mark Marshall, while Mahamadou-Naby Sarr was sent off.

Plymouth remain in the drop zone despite a 2-1 win at Rochdale, thanks to two late goals, as Joel Grant scored on 73 and a David Perkins own goal on 80.

Peterborough needed a 92nd minute Ryan Tafazolli goal to earn a point at Shrewsbury in a 2-2 draw. Matthew Godden had put the visitors ahead before Greg Docherty and Fejiri Okenabirhie scored for Town.

A Chad Evans penalty delivered a 1-0 win for Fleetwood over Burton; while Marcus Browne and James Henry goals secured a 2-0 home victory for Oxford United over Blackpool.

Southend United were also big winners as Sam Mantom, Simon Cox and Theo Robinson provided the goals in a 3-0 win over Accrington.

Gillingham came from 2-0 down to salvage a 2-2 draw at home to Wycombe. Adam El-Abd and Nathan Tyson had put the visitors up within 20 minutes, before second half strikes from Thomas Eaves and Josh Parker pulled it back.
