Premier League sack race: Watford's Javi Gracia favourite to leave job first, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Steve Bruce also in the running

Watford boss Javi Gracia is the current favourite in the Premier League manager sack race.

The Hornets have lost their opening three games of the 2019/20 campaign - against Brighton, Everton and West Ham.

Their poor form runs deeper still, with their run to the FA Cup final last season derailing the final stages of their league campaign and effectively costing them a seventh-placed finish.

Sky Bet currently price Gracia as the 11/10 favourite to be the next top-flight boss to leave his post.

Including that 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Man City in the Wembley final, Gracia's men are now on a seven-match losing run and he faces an important spell when it comes to getting Watford back on track - and saving his job.

The Spaniard, who was handed a new four-year deal last November after a promising start to the season, has a sequence of games coming up that could make or break for his future.

Watford face Coventry in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday and a tough trip to Newcastle on Saturday, with the risk that defeat in the latter game sparks speculation heading into the international break.

After that, they have five more league fixtures before another break for internationals in October, and the Telegraph reports his future is likely to be assessed once again at this point.

Next in the betting is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at 8/1 after Manchester United suffered a shock 2-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday to fall five points adrift of leaders Liverpool.

Then there is Steve Bruce, whose Newcastle side secured a shock 1-0 victory over Tottenham on Sunday. It was Bruce's first win as Magpies boss and pressure remains on the 58-year-old, as it has ever since his arrival at the troubled Tyneside club.

Roy Hodgson is well fancied too, despite pulling off that unlikely win at Old Trafford, with Palace expected to endure a long season fighting relegation following little transfer activity in the summer.

  • Check out the latest sack race odds below - they could soon alter if said managers lose their Carabao Cup second-round ties in midweek.
