1710 📈 TABLE MOVERS

Premier League

Lots of movement at the bottom of the table. Southampton went from being in the relegation zone to 16th after their comeback win. They re two above third bottom Cardiff, who also won. Fulham are now 11 from safety and surely doomed with Huddersfield.

Brighton's win brings them levell with Palace on 33 points, both five about the drop zone. Newcastle move to 34 points.

Sky Bet Championship

The top three all won, so it is as you were with Norwich 77, Leeds 70 and Sheffield United 68. Surely it is between those now for the automatic spots after WBA dropped points again. They are fourth on 61, with Boro fifth on 58. Derby are back into sixth, a point above Bristol City.

At the bottom Bolton's win moves them to 29 points and five from safety, with Millwall now fourth bottom on 34 points. Readings late win puts the to 36

Sky Bet League One

AFC Wimbledon and Bradford City both won at the bottom and are seven and four points away from fifth bottom Oxford respectively. Luton are top on 76, with Barnsley second on 73 and Sunderland on 69.

Sky Bet League Two

Lincoln are two points clear of Bury as both have won over the last 24 hours. MK Dons move to third on 65. Similar story at the bottom with Notts County and Macclesfield there.

1706 🕵 PREMIER LEAGUE TIPS

For the 5.30 our man Paul Higham has been looking at this one and he is going for a best bet of Man City to win to nil at 11/10

Watford will most likely try to sit, limiting their attacking abilities, and if so it will be a familiar story of City dominating and probing to look for openings - and they usually find the net.

1704 📰 TEAM NEWS - Man City v Watford

In the 5.30 game, Mahrez starts in place of the injured Kevin de Bruyne for Manchester City. Vincent Kompany also starts

Watford make a massive seven changes to the side that won 2-1 against Leicester last-time out

1702 🔴 RED CARD

Not one, not two, but three!!! Sunderland level at Wycombe and then all hell breaks loose. Bean and Tyson go for the home side. Honeymoon sees red for Sunderland

1701 🎆 BETTING SUCCESS

Well they made us sweat for it, but Sunderland's 94th minute equaliser gave us another two in play winners right on the buzzer. We had them to score next and the game with Wycombe to finish in a draw at 7/4 and 11/4 respectively.

Forest 3-0 Hull City

Lolley seals this game with a penalty and keep's Forest's promotion hopes going

1639 🌩 GOAL FLASH

Southampton 2-1 Tottenham

Ward-Prowse hits a stunning free kick and Tottenham are stunned. They should have been out of sight at the break but they've been made to pay for not taking their chances and Southampton have been excellent in the second half.

Newcastle 2-2 Everton

Perez, having set up the first, gets the equaliser for Newcastle. What a game this one is! Almiron fizzes a powerful strike from 25 yards that swerves in the air but it's straight at Pickford. He beats it away. But beats it into the heart of the penalty area. Perez - like any good striker - has followed the strike in and taps home from close range.

1637 🎆 BETTING SUCCESS

Double success with that goal.

Forest 2-0 Hull

1632 🔍 IN PLAY ADVICE

Sunderland are trailing 1-0 at Wycombe and they've not been great. However they have scored in their last 42 consecutive games. Does that run end today?

We are going to say they will get a goal in this one and are 7/4 to score next. The draw is 11/4.

If you think this is the end of the run then no more goals in the game is 11/10 and Wycombe to win 4/11

1629 🌩 GOAL FLASH

Middlesbrough 1-1 Brentford

Shotton's own goal levels this one up

Forest 1-0 Hull

WBA 1-1 Ipswich

The Sky Bet Championship's bottom club have got back into this one against a WBA who are starting to struggle at home.

1601 🔍 IN PLAY ADVICE

Into Sky Bet League Two we go. We are going for MK Dons to get the next goal away at second bottom Macclesfield. We were typing them to score next when they were 1-0 down and they equalised as we did it - ahh. So we are going for it again in the second half at 5/6 and to win at 11/10

Blackpool 1-1 Southend

Blackpool have levelled it up at home in front of a sold out crowd as they celebrate the start of a new era. We back them now to go on and beat a Southend side that's not won in seven. They re currently 4/5 to get the next goal and 1/1 to win

1533 🌩 GOAL FLASH

Newcastle 0-2 Everton

Richarlison doubles the lead here but there is controversy before this. Pickford smashes down Rondon and he should be sent off - forget the double jeopardy rule - he should be gone. But he stays on and he saves Ritchie's poor penalty. Everton go up the other end and you know the rest...

1532 🔍 IN PLAY ADVICE

Jamie Vardy has created one goal for Leicester, when he could have scored it himself. He's gone in one on one again but got tackled as he pulled the trigger.

He's looking for his 100th goal for the Foxes and in Rodger's first home game in charge. We've seen Murray get his 100th for Brighton today, will Vardy to the same?

He is 7/4 to score any time now or 9/2 to get the second of the game - if you are brave

1517 🌩 GOAL FLASH

Newcastle 0-1 Everton

Calvert-Lewin gets the first goal in this one. Bernard reverses a ball to Digne, who sends in a fantastic ball. Calvert-Lewin gets ahead of his marker and flicks a wonderful header into the bottom corner.

Huddersfield 0-1 Bournemouth

Wilson scores to mark his return from injury in fine style and continue his excellent form against the Terriers. Great ball from Brooks to set Fraser clear, the Scotland international fires it across from Wilson, who diverts the ball into the net with his chest from underneath the crossbar.

1515 🔍 IN PLAY ADVICE

It is all Tottenham at Southampton and everything is going through Kane. He's already had two shots off target too and is looking so sharp

He is 7/2 to open the scoring. And Spurs are 4/7 to score the opening goal

1450 🔍 IN PLAY ADVICE - Cardiff v West Ham

Cardiff have lost all three of their Premier League meetings with West Ham by a two goal margin, the latest of which was 1-3 in December. The Hammers have beaten the Bluebirds in their last seven meetings in all competitions. Cardiff have lost their last three Premier League matches by an arrogate score of 1-10.

So going for West Ham on an exact winning margin of two goals at 6/1 could work, but West Ham by three or more goals at 10/1 also looks really worth while.

1444 🔍 IN PLAY ADVICE - Huddersfield v Bournemouth

So going around the time news a few interesting things pop up. Callum Wilson returns for Bournemouth at Huddersfield after missing the last six games through injury and we reckon he was keen to get back for this one considering his record.

The England striker has scored six goals in five league appearances against Huddersfield, including four in three Premier League games.

He is 7/2 to open the scoring at the John Smith’s Stadium and 13/8 anytime.

1436 🕵 EFL TIPS

Tom Carduff tipped Emiliano Buendia to score anytime at 13/5 in last night's Norwich v Swansea game. So lets hope that winning form extends into today. Here are his Saturday tips....

Once again, the conversations surrounding Bolton are about matters off-the-field.

That said, it hasn't been much better on it with the club battling the drop down to Sky Bet League One. It's a battle that they will likely lose.

Millwall aren't safe from trouble either. They are just one point above the relegation zone and have lost their last three. This is a cliche 'six-pointer' at the bottom end of the division.

Millwall will be confident of victory given the problems for their opponents. Neil Harris' men also picked up a surprise away win at promotion-chasing Derby too, while points have come in recent trips to Middlesbrough and Ipswich.

A stand-out performer in Leeds’ impressive win over West Brom was Tyler Roberts, who put in his best performance since arriving in January 2018. He's been playing in an attacking midfield role under Marcelo Bielsa and will start again here.

The only thing that was missing from that performance against the Baggies was a goal.

At 3/1, it's worth a small stake on Roberts to hit the net here. He can hopefully utilise the confidence gained from the performance last time out, which may put him in a good position here.

They bounced back from that uncharacteristic defeat to Bristol Rovers with an away win at Accrington in midweek, setting it up nicely for a confident performance in front of a packed crowd.

The Bloomfield Road faithful can begin to enjoy football once again following a change in ownership, with the club sinking from the Premier League to League Two in just a matter of years.

They're on their way back though and find themselves in the mix for a potential play-off finish. They are just four points off the top-six, and will be hoping for favours from AFC Wimbledon and Bradford as they play the two teams above them.

In their first game in a new chapter in the history of Blackpool Football Club, they will be wanting three points to signal that the good teams are indeed back, alongside their quest for a potential promotion under Terry McPhillips.

🚨 SOCCER SATURDAY PRICE BOOST

1432 📰 TEAM NEWS - Southampton v Tottenham

Southampton stick with the side that did so well in their loss at Manchester United

Tottenham make four changes as Dele Alli is back from injury and plays for the first time since January, while Kyle Walker-Peters, Eric Dier and Lucas Moura also start. Toby Alderweireld, Kieran Trippier, Victor Wanyama and Son Heung-min drop out.

1431 📰 TEAM NEWS - Newcastle v Everton

Two changes for Newcastle. Ki Sung-yueng replaces the injured Sean Longstaff in midfield and full-back DeAndre Yedlin comes in for Javier Manquillo.

Attacking midfielder Richarlison is in for Theo Walcott and Andre Gomes replaces Morgan Schneiderlin in the centre for Eveton in two changes also.

1430 📰 TEAM NEWS - Cardiff v West Ham

Four changes for Cardiff. Sol Bamba is out for the season and Ralls, Reid and Zohore all drop out of the team, to be replaced by Manga, Arter, Hoilett Murphy.

Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham unchanged from the defeat to Newcastle, with Arnautovic continuing on the bench once again while Balbuena is back as a sub after injury.

1429 📰 TEAM NEWS - Huddersfield v Bournemouth

Town boss Jan Siewert forced to make three changes, with eight players missing through injury in total. Kachunga, Mooy and Zanka come into the Terriers’ starting XI.

George Pitts’ goalscorer tip David Brooks starts for Bournemouth, who make two changes from their defeat to Man City.

1428 📰 TEAM NEWS - Leicester v Fulham

Brendan Rodgers takes charge of his first game in the home dugout at the King Power, with one change and a new formation by the looks of it. Centre-back Wes Morgan makes way for Demarai Gray as the Foxes revert to a four-man defence.

Scott Parker’s Fulham remain unchanged from their defeat to Chelsea.

🕵 PREMIER LEAGUE TIPS

Team news for the 3pm games to come, but first here are two more of George Pitt's tips...

The price alone on them to win with over 1.5 total goals at 13/10 is appealing but the north Londoners to win to nil at 5/2 is the preferred option.

The Saints boast one of the league's worst scoring records on home turf in the Premier League with just 17 goals in 14 games at St Mary's, while Spurs are the strongest away side with 33 points collected on the road.

Newcastle have won four on the bounce at home in the Premier League, but they are not out of the relegation fight yet.

They have improved their goalscoring record, finding the back of the net nine times in that run, and can at least get on the score sheet here with the attacking threat of Salomon Rondon, Ayoze Perez and impressive new signing Miguel Almiron able to unlock an unconvincing Toffees defence.

The pressure has crept up on Marco Silva at Everton in recent weeks but four points from their last two games, including the Merseyside derby, will have eased that slightly.

Their recent 3-0 win at Cardiff shows their ability to find the back of the net including Gylfi Sigurdsson, who has credited manager Silva with unlocking his goalscoring potential after reaching 12 goals in all competitions already at this stage of the season.

⌛️ FULL TIME - Palace 1-2 Brighton

Brighton survive a last second corner and secure the win to continue Palace's miserable home record.

It was a win built on a wonderful defensive display and two stunning strikes. But how much did luck play in in too? Murray was meant to be a sub today, but an injury in the warm up meant he started instead. And Knockaert could have been sent off after 28 seconds but survived and scored a stunning winner

93' Palace 1-2 Brighton

Brighton head away a Palace free kick as it's floated into their area

90' Palace 1-2 Brighton

Four minutes of injury time here.

Ball falls loose in the area and goes to Schlupp to half volley home. Dunk throws himself at the player and does enough to put him off and he drills the shot well over. Dunk has been on another level this afternoon

⌛️ FULL TIME - IN THE EFL

83' Palace 1-2 Brighton

Palace whip in a free kick from the right but it is cleared well by Brighton. Their centre backsDuffy and Dunk have been excellent today.

📰 TEAM NEWS

We will have all the team news from the 3pm Premier League games at the conclusion of Palace v Brighton, with eight mins left.

But just to let you know that Alli returns for Spurs after his hamstring injury suffered in January. Wilson is in for Bournemouth after missing the last six games. Vardy starts for Leicester in Rodgers's first home game, despite being an injury doubt.

77' Palace 1-2 Brighton

When you get to see Knockaert's goal don't just marvel at that, but also ensure you watch Glenn Murray's reaction to the strike. It's fantastic - just pure shock. Here's a snap shot of it.

74' 🌩 GOAL FLASH

Palace 1-2 Brighton

WHAT A GOAL from Knockaert

Would you believe it - as Palace are stung on the counter attack again.

Cross field pass finds Knockaert on the right 25 out. He cuts inside to get to the edge of the area, dummies to shot once, then let's fly with an incredible curling left footed effort. It hits the post in the top corner and goes in - keeper no chance.

Knockaert could have been sent off after 28 seconds but no could be the match winner. He's also been subbed straight away!

73' Palace 1-1 Brighton

Brighton give it away again 25 out and Milivojevic attempts an audacious curling effort off his right boot but he doesn't get quite enough whip on it as it fizzes past Ryan's left post.

70' Palace 1-1 Brighton

Brighton, under pressure, are trying to keep the ball deep inside their own half whenever they win it back. You see what they are doing - trying to avoid hoofing it forward, giving it away cheaply and inviting another wave of Palace pressure.

However they keep getting caught out near their own box and losing it in dangerous areas. They've just about got away with it so far.

⌛️ FULL TIME - IN THE EFL

Blackburn 0-1 Preston

North End finished with ten men after Darnell Fisher’s second yellow card in stoppage time, but they held on to keep their play-off hopes alive.

Alex Neil’s men move within three points of the play-offs ahead of the afternoon games, thanks to being unbeaten in 10 matches, winning six.

Thats now no wins in seven for Rovers, losing six of those. That run started just days after Tony Mowbray won the Sky Bet Manager of the Month Award for January. Is the curse real?

🌩 GOAL FLASH - IN THE EFL

Sheffield United 2-0 Rotherham

Duffy shots from outside the area into the top right corner.

63' Palace 1-1 Brighton

Batshuayi is getting the treatment today. Dunk smashed him into touch as the ball bounces out of play.

Then on half way Glenn Murray gets under Milivojevic as he jumps for a header to force him to land hard and he's hurt.

No cards either time.

🎥 VIDEO GOAL HIGHLIGHT

58' Palace 1-1 Brighton

It is a more open game now, although it is Palace still pushing for the next goal more. Zaha is starting to get more space down the left.

Brighton look a bit sharper on the counter now but they are still committing too many fouls.

🔍 IN PLAY ADVICE

Let's quickly go for another next scorer. In the Sky Bet Championship Sheffield United lead 10 men Rotherham 1-0 in the second half. The Bladed have now had eight shots on target and another five off. It is all them as they look to boost their goal difference, which could be so crucial come the end of the season.

Sheffield United are 10/11 to score next

🎆 BETTING SUCCESS

Always nice to get the first one on the board early in the day, and we called Palace to score next at 4/5. Four minutes later they do just that. That's in-play betting for you!

50' 🌩 GOAL FLASH

Palace 1-1 Brighton

Milivojevic steps up to take and puts it in the right corner. Ryan went the wrong way, but it was such a good spot kick I doubt he would have saved it even if he went that way.

48' Palace 0-1 Brighton

PENALTY TO PALACE

Townsend dummies to shot in the area and dribbles instead - it fools the defenders and he is tripped up.

46' Palace 0-1 Brighton

Back underway and Palace have started how they finished the first half - dominating possession and territory

🔍 IN PLAY ADVICE

Palace have dominated the game, but not really had a clean shot on target yet. More bad news I'm afraid for them - as Palace have won just one of their 13 Premier League games this season when they've conceded the first goal.

So Brighton to hold on to win is 5/6; Palace to win is 4/1 and the draw is 2/1.

I'd look for the draw here and Palace to score next at 4/5.

⚽️ SPORTING LIFE ACCA

It's about time the Sporting Life EFL ACCA came in again, so lets get it done today.

Nottingham Forest (to beat Hull)

Martin O'Neill's men have been strong at home, winning their last three at the City Ground. This week sees them take on a Hull side who have lost four of their last five away in all competitions, drawing the other.

Fleetwood (to beat Walsall)

Walsall have endured a torrid second-half of the season and now find themselves among the favourites for relegation. A win in their last home game against struggling Bradford ended a run of three consecutive home defeats. Fleetwood, on the other hand, have won their last three away and remain a contender for the play-offs.

Colchester (to beat Newport)

Both sides have seen mixed fortunes in recent weeks but Colchester are only out of the play-off positions on goal difference. They have lost just one of their last five at home and take on a Newport side who have failed to win in 13 of their 17 away games this season.

Bury (to beat Stevenage)

We may as well name the Manager of the Month award in League Two after Ryan Lowe given the fact he is winning it so many times this season. His title contenders Bury are away at Stevenage on Saturday, who have lost two of their last three at home - stretching their winless run to four. The Shakers can be confident here given how they are unbeaten in their last seven away in all competitions, five of which have been wins.

🚨 SKY BET PRICE BOOST

Michy Batshuayi had two attempts in the first half, with one of those on target. Think he will get on the score sheet?

Well, you can now back the Belgian to score the game's second goal at an enhanced price of 6/1!

🕵 PREMIER LEAGUE TIPS

With half time upon us at Selhurst Park let's turn our necks to face the five 3pm Premier League games. George Pitts, who brought in a good winner last Saturday is going for...

While backing a low-scoring Bournemouth victory is a temptation, the preference is to avoid the match result due to the away side's inconsistency this term.

The more appealing price is on David Brooks to score anytime. The exciting Welsh winger recently returned from a month on the sidelines, to feature in the narrow defeat to Man City, and can celebrate the new long-term deal which he signed this week by finding the back of the net against the Terriers.

The 21-year-old, who arrived from Sheffield United for £10m in the summer, has been rewarded for his impressive start to life on the south coast after scoring six goals in 26 appearances.

He scored against Chelsea in Bournemouth's shock January win and averages nearly two shots per game in the Premier League this term. While the likes of Josh King, Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser pose obvious threats, Brooks is a top performer in this side and is worth a small play anytime at over 3/1.

Scott Parker will have been keen to shore up the Fulham defence, but the Cottagers' away record has been the worst in the Premier League this term, collecting just two points from a possible 45 so far, and Brendan Rodgers' City side will be fired up and ready to go on his first home clash.

The Foxes have scored in both halves in four of their 10 wins this term and, even potentially without Jamie Vardy, they can burst out of the blocks and use their exciting and youthful attack to impress their new boss.

⏳ HALF TIME - Palace 0-1 Brighton

Palace have made all the running but Brighton have been excellent defensively. Murray's 100th goal for the club on the counter attack shows just how important it is to 1) not make mistakes 2) take your chances.

Stats

  • Possession: Palace 58% v 42% Brighton
  • Corners: Palace 1 v 2 Brighton
  • Shots on Target: Palace 5 v 1 Brighton
  • Shots off Target Palace 2 v 0 Brighton
  • Fouls: Palace 2 v 8 Brighton
  • Bookings: Palace 0 v 2 Brighton

47' Palace 0-1 Brighton

Tomkins tries to control a bouncing ball in the box and goes down as he is touched in the back by Knockaert. No penalty given

He seemed to be looking for it and goes down easily, but you've seen them given

44' Palace 0-1 Brighton

Coming up to half time and it remains all Palace. Dunk blocks again at the edge of the area from a Townsend shot.

Then Batshuayi gets into the box down the left and from a tight angle forces Dunk and Ryan into a block

⏳ HALF TIME - IN THE EFL

Sheffield United 1-0 Rotherham United

Blackburn 0-1 Preston

40' Palace 0-1 Brighton

First fun fact of the day....

Anthony Knockaert's yellow card after 28 seconds was the quickest in a Premier League game since March 2009, when Blackburn's Stephen Warnock was booked after 26 seconds against Hull. Eager.

Brighton's Anthony Knockaert is booked after 28 seconds against Palace
Brighton's Anthony Knockaert is booked after 28 seconds against Palace

35' Palace 0-1 Brighton

Brighton are working a lot own their left and getting most of their joy and crosses in from that side. They are trying to slow play down when they get into the Palace half and throw ins are being taken at a sail's pace.

🔴 RED CARD - IN THE EFL

Vaulks is sent off for Rotherham United, with his side already 1-0 down to Sheffield United.

31' Palace 0-1 Brighton

Dunk makes an excellent block to halt Zaha. Then Mat Ryan claws away a header from James Tomkins before Jeffrey Schlupp drills another chance wide.

Palace fighting hard to level this up

30' 🔍 IN PLAY ADVICE

Brighton have committed six fouls already and have two players in the book. Jahanbakhsh has committed two so far and survived a booking so far. He is 7/2 to be booked.

Bissouma has also put some meaty ones in and he is 8/13 to go in the ref's book.

25' Palace 0-1 Brighton

Montoya is the second player to go in the book for Brighton, as he holds Zaha back as he tries to counterattack.

Palace have pushed on since going behind, but Brighton have grown in confidence and are coming forward a bit more now.

They could have had a penalty too. Duffy is pulled to ground in the area by a Palace defender as a free kick is wiped in, but the ref isn't looking at it.

22' MURRAY 100 NOT OUT

That's Murray's 100th league goal for Brighton and he becomes only the second player to achieve that feat in a Brighton shirt.

Glenn Murray fires across goal to score his 100th goal for Brighton
Glenn Murray fires across goal to score his 100th goal for Brighton

19' 🌩 GOAL FLASH

Palace 0-1 Brighton - Murray

Well is was written wasn't it. Murray wasn't meant to start this game but here he is banging in Brighton's first chance of the game against his former club.

Tomkins make a mess of a hoof down field and tries to head it back to the keeper but gets it all wrong. Murray races on to it but still has so much to do, but it is a great finish across goal.

16' Palace 0-0 Brighton

Batshuayi has has the only shot on goal so far in this game. It came from the edge of the box, which bounced into the arms of Ryan in the Brighton goal. A bright start from Palace, but still waiting for the game to fully spark into life.

IN THE EFL

Two early kick offs in the Sky Bet Championship.

Sheffield United 1-0 Rotherham

Big goal at Bramall Lane in the South Yorkshire derby as Sheffield United lead 1-0. They need to win to get back up to second for the time being at least, with Leeds United playing at 3 at Bristol City.

Blackburn 0-1 Preston

Johnson gives the lead to the inform visitors, to add to Blackburn's tough time of things recently. Rovers have failed in win in their last six matches - losing five of those.

9' Palace 0-0 Brighton

Just to let you know that our pre-match tip from the Sporting Life's Paul Higham was Palace to win & under 3.5 goals at 7/5

His reasoning....

Palace did hit four at Leicester and three at Burnley, but playing on the counter away from home is arguably easier for a team like Palace than trying to force the issue at home, and Brighton have certainly proved capable of defending and keeping things tight. Palace have enough to win, but it shouldn't be a landslide.

5' Palace 0-0 Brighton

Since that nasty start the game has calmed down quickly. No shots on target as yet. Palace enjoying early possession but most of it on halfway.

1' Palace 0-0 Brighton

It took less than 1 minute for the first yellow card in this game between two teams that hate each other.

Anthony Knockaert goes in hard on Luka Milivojevic. The Palace skipper is down and in pain.

Referee Craig Pawson whips out a yellow card. It could have been a red. If it has been later in the game it would have been.

Kick Off: Palace 0-0 Brighton

Palace make a few changes from the side that beat Burnley 3-1. Vicente Guaita replaces Wayne Hennessey in goal, with the Welshman not even making the bench. James McArthur and Andros Townsend also come back in with Max Meyer and Cheikhou Kouyate both relegated to the bench.

Florin Andone was meant to start this game for Brighton ahead of Glenn Murray, however he got himself injured in the warm up and so Murray does now start and is 11/4 to score anytime.
