'What a game of football!' - Reaction to entertaining Leeds United 1-1 Manchester City Premier League draw at Elland Road

Premier League newcomers Leeds United held Pep Guardiola's Manchester City at Elland Road in a thrilling match on Saturday.

A 1-1 draw on paper may not scream game-of-the-day, but it was football at its most exhillarating in the second half as the hosts grew in confidence and took the game to the four-time champions.

That was after an opening half hour in which Pep Guardiola's side could have been three, four or five up after peppering a nervy Leeds defence. They took the lead through Raheem Sterling, who was part of a front three without Sergio Aguero or Gabriel Jesus centrally.

But Marcelo Bielsa, up against old friend Guardiola, worked his magic at half-time and made changes as his side came out firing.

Leeds' fitness and relentless approach made for an end-to-end clash, with substitute and record summer signing Rodrigo putting them back on level terms after a rare error from goalkeeper Ederson.

Both sides then had great opportunities to claim all three points, but ultimately last year's Sky Bet Championship winners saw out a hard-earned point from the big-spending Citizens.

The football was so thrilling and entertaining that it was praised far and wide on social media.
