Left-back Charlie Taylor could return to Burnley's squad but Danny Drinkwater is unlikely to be considered just yet, although while two reserve matches have been arranged next week with the aim of giving Chelsea loanee Drinkwater some game time.. Bournemouth forward Arnaut Danjuma (foot) is out. Midfielders Andrew Surman and Harry Wilson are available but defender Lloyd Kelly (ankle) is not yet match-fit, Lewis Cook is continuing the final stages of his rehabilitation from a serious knee injury and Dan Gosling (hip) and David Brooks (ankle) are also still recovering, along with Simon Francis and Junior Stanislas (both knee).

Brighton have no fresh injury problems. Striker Neal Maupay is pushing for a start after coming off the bench to score on his debut in the win at Watford but winger Jose Izquierdo and defender Ezequiel Schelotto (both knee) continue their rehabilitation along with midfielder Yves Bissouma (shoulder).

West Ham have doubts over forwards Sebastien Haller and Felipe Anderson, who picked up unspecified problems against Manchester City. Captain Mark Noble (calf) will miss out again but could be back next week. Midfielder Jack Wilshere is fit despite coming off against City with a dead leg.

Danny Welbeck could be involved for Watford - he has not featured since November when he broke his leg playing for Arsenal but is back to fitness. Ismaila Sarr will not feature but Gerard Deulofeu should be fine after illness and Adam Masina, Domingos Quina and Nathaniel Chalobah are in the squad.

The Brazilian missed last week's opener against West Ham having returned to training late following international duty. Winger Leroy Sane is the only major absentee as he awaits knee surgery while left-back Benjamin Mendy is unlikely to be involved as he builds up match fitness.

Tottenham are still without hamstring injury victims Dele Alli and Ryan Sessegnon. Juan Foyth and Son Heung-min are both suspended but Spurs are otherwise at full strength. Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen are vying for starts while Giovani Lo Celso could be on the bench following his deadline-day move from Real Betis.

Norwich (16) v Newcastle (14)

Norwich have only two fit centre-backs and winger Onel Hernandez could require surgery after slipping and falling while at home for a suspected lateral miniscus tear and possible ACL damage. Adam Idah and Kenny McLean are also doubtful but Alex Tettey is expected to be available.

Magpies winger Allan Saint-Maximin may miss out with a hamstring injury but fellow midfielder Jonjo Shelvey is fit after ankle trouble. Deadline-day signing Emil Krafth will hope for a debut but DeAndre Yedlin (groin), Florian Lejeune (knee), Christian Atsu (knee) and striker Dwight Gayle (hamstring) are out and Andy Carroll continues to work his way back towards match fitness.

Southampton (17) v Liverpool (3)

Saints should have new signing Kevin Danso available - the defender has joined up with the squad this week after his deadline-day switch from Augsburg. Captain Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg should also be involved following illness and winger Moussa Djenepo could be set for a debut having been an unused substitute in the 3-0 defeat at Burnley.

Adrian is a doubt for Liverpool after an accidental collision with a supporter in the immediate aftermath of the Super Cup final win over Chelsea left the goalkeeper with a swollen ankle. First choice Alisson Becker has a calf injury so if Adrian is unavailable at St Mary's then Andy Lonergan is likely to be deployed. Midfielder Naby Keita will miss out because of a muscle strain.
