Tottenham survived a late West Ham onslaught to emerge with a 3-2 win in Saturday's early Premier League kick-off.
Harry Kane scored twice in four first-half minutes and Spurs appeared to be cruising when Christian Eriksen added a third.
But Javier Hernandez pulled one back before Serge Aurier marked his full Spurs league debut with a needless red card.
That left the visitors a man down with 20 minutes to go, and when Cheikhou Kouyate halved the deficit they must have feared another dose of West Ham woe.
Tottenham can be backed at 14/1 with Sky Bet to win the Premier League title and 8/13 for a top-four finish.
West Ham are 7/2 in the relegation odds and odds-on at 1/4 to finish in the bottom half.
Post-match reaction
Harry Kane admits Tottenham breathed a sigh of relief after holding off West Ham's fightback.
Kane told Sky Sports: "Yeah (it was a relief), obviously when you're 3-0 up in a game and you end up going to 3-2 it's always a bit nerve-racking, especially when you're down to 10 men.
"It is a fantastic result away from home, obviously going 3-0 up we would have liked to have seen it out a bit better, but a win is a win and we're delighted with it."
Tottenham have dropped points in their home games at Wembley against Chelsea, Burnley and Swansea this season but their latest away win impressed boss Mauricio Pochettino.
"It was so difficult," he said. "West Ham played well, they have a lot of players that can cause you a problem.
"We suffered a little bit, but I like it when you suffer, because it means you are alive. Overall I think we deserved to win and the good thing is we can compete."
The result brings an end to West Ham's mini-revival and leaves them on four points after six games.
Hammers boss Slaven Bilic said: "Obviously we are disappointed but we didn't give up."
