Sadio Mane returns to training

Liverpool have been handed a pre-season boost as forward Sadio Mane returns to full training.

The 25-year old underwent surgery on a knee injury he sustained in the Merseyside derby at Anfield in April, and was forced to miss the remainder of the campaign.

Mane, who scored 13 Premier League goals in 27 games last season, missed Liverpool's tour of Hong Kong last week to remain at Melwood and focus on returning to full fitness.

Sky Bet have priced Mane up at 25/1 in their top goalscorer betting for the new season.

Senegal international Mane will also be joined by Danny Ings who has been out of action since October with his own knee problem.

Ings, 24, joined the Reds in June 2015 but has made only six league appearances due to ongoing injuries.

Liverpool continue their pre-season preparations when they travel to Germany for a training camp on Wednesday before facing Hertha Berlin at the Olympiastadion on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp's side then meet Bayern Munich and either Atletico Madrid or Napoli in next week's Audi Cup.
