Live betting blog on tonight's football featuring Champions League and Sky Bet EFL matches

Harry Kane scored a 'perfect' hat-trick and Man City also won but Liverpool were held in the Champions League - recap the action with our blog.

Champions League results

Manchester City 2-0 Shakhtar Donetsk
Spartak Moscow 1-1 Liverpool
APOEL Nicosia 0-3 Tottenham

2141: GAME OVER! Liverpool end up with their second draw of their Group E campaign after being frustrated by Spartak Moscow, while Manchester City and Spurs run out ready winners to nil against Shakhtar and APOEL Nicosia respectively.

2140: There is no £250,000 Super 6 jackpot winner tonight. Close, but no cigars will be lit.

See how you got on via the live leaderboard.

2138: Chance for Salah! Header from Mo Salah from close range is saved and he probably should have done better from six yards out in the middle of the box. A strong right hand from the substitute goalkeeper is enough to deny the Liverpool man.

2136: Added time being played and Liverpool are still trying to create something at the death. There's going to be plenty of injury time due to injuries to a couple of Spartak players, but can the Reds find a winner?

2133: GOAL! Man City 2-0 Shakhtar Donetsk - Raheem Sterling makes sure for the hosts as he rattled the ball in off the crossbar following some good work down the right from Bernardo Silva who finds himself in acres of space. So many attacking options, City do always seem to find a way to wear teams down. A richly deserved success for Guardiola's side.

2132: Chance for Sturridge! So close for the Liverpool sub, who is found with an exquisite pass from Jordan Henderson but blazes a first-time volley over the top. He had time to bring that down, which is easy for me to say.

2129: PRICE BOOST - Daniel Sturridge is on for Liverpool and Sky Bet make him 11/1 (enhanced from 10/1) to score the third goal of the game.

2127: Sergio Aguero leaves the field as he's presumably rested for the Chelsea game at the weekend.

Oh, and Oldham lead Peterborough. Not tonight for the SL Acca, sadly it's not tonight.

2125: Sterling goes down in the Shakhtar penalty area but his longing glances towards the ref are shrugged off.

2123: Not a Super 6 game, but relief for Madrid backers as Ronaldo restores their two-goal leader in Dortmund. On his 400th appearance, the Portugal man has just scored his 410th Real Madrid goal. Just outrageous.

2122: Super 6 update - with around 15 mins to go, TWO players are just ONE goal away from the jackpot. Best of luck to those involved.

2119: Here's a familiar sight - a frustrated Klopp. Liverpool have just gone odds-against at 6/5 to get the win tonight. They could really do with a goal here having shot themselves in the foot against Sevilla on the opening night.

Backers of the Sky Bet Crowd Boost Accumulator could also do with a Liverpool goal...

2115: Penalty miss! Sergio Aguero, with the chance to become Man City's joint all-time highest goalscorer, has a penalty saved. Remarkable. Not badly struck at all, but the 'keeper guessed right and made a strong save.

2111: It's raining goals at Portman Road - that can't happen too often. Ipswich lead Sunderland 4-2 now, while Cardiff are 3-1 up against Leeds.

The Champions League game between Besiktas and Leipzig has been suspended due to what looks like a partial floodlight failure.

2109: APOEL 0-3 Tottenham - Harry Kane completes the hat-trick and it is indeed of the 'perfect' variety as he ghosts into the box late to get on the end of Tripier's cross from the right. Brilliant from the England striker.

2106: Posh! No, not Harry Kane - Peterborough are level. Ah - Newport lead against Crawley. It's not an easy game the Acca game.

Ipswich are slamming Sunderland 4-1 so that looks a winner on the night for our EFL expert Nick Hext.

2103: GOAL! APOEL 0-2 Tottenham - Harry Kane scores! After another weird August blank, Kane is seriously going through the gears now. He's given too much time to control the ball on the edge of the box before being able to pick his spot in the bottom corner. Right foot, this time. Header to complete the 'perfect hat-trick'?

Sky Bet go 100/30 from 3/1 for Kane to get his third at any time - live odds here.

2102: Liverpool really cranking up the pressure on Spartak and Trent Alexander-Arnold looks really impressive offering plenty of attacking intent.

2100: Chance for Man City! Aguero almost doubles the lead for the Citizens after David Silva finds him in space with a majestic ball into his path.

Domestically, Ipswich have a two-goal cushion again over Sunderland and lead 3-1, but it's bad news for Sporting Life Accumulator fans as Peterborough fall behind against Oldham.

2058: Sky Bet make Dortmund 8/1 to complete a remarkable comeback victory, while Ronaldo is 100/30 to score next. Click here for all the live odds and offers.

2057: Just when you think Real Madrid have it wrapped up, Dortmund hit back. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hasn't done a great deal all evening but he manages to poke one home with his studs to give Dortmund a real chance of salvaging something.

2055: A lifeline for Sunderland at Ipswich as they pull one back to trail 2-1 while Hull level against Preston to make it 1-1.

In Moscow, Coutinho has a direct free-kick turned around the post by a full-stretch 'keeper.

2053: GOAL! Dortmund 0-2 Real Madrid - Cristiano Ronaldo scores, Zidane nods sagely and applauds on the touchline. A straightforward finish from a far-from-straightforward footballer.

2052: GOAL! Manchester City 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk - I know I was signing Leroy Sane's praises earlier but Kevin De Bruyne will be Player of the Year if City do go on and win the league. He's just magnificent. He curls a lovely long-range strike past the helpless goalkeeper to put Man City 1-0 up art the Etihad.

2051: My lumpy single on Real Madrid is looking one of the brighter points of the night so far but they're living life on the edge rather and clear another one off the line against Dortmund.

2050: A second goal for Napoli against Feyenoord as the red-hot Mertens puts away a gift following some truly awful defending.

2048: Peterborough's Twitter account would suggest they didn't create much in the first half. The team news announcement is followed on their timeline by the HT update. I'm sure it's been more entertaining than that really.

2047: Chance for Son! Tight angle for the Spurs man but he sends the ball well wide after being teed up by Kane. It looks like the Premier League side are holding their opponents at arm's length for the time being.

2042: Quick Super 6 update - just over 340k players remain in jackpot contention with six of you currently two goals away. Not many players are on the goalless draw at the Etihad...

2038: HALF-TIME BOOST?

Liverpool are 4/7 to go on and win in Moscow, while it's 5/2 for more frustration via a draw. Sky Bet also offer a range of Price Boosts, including Coutinho to score another at 9/2 and Mane to score next at 5/1.

2034: Whistles have blown up and down the land and here's where we stand in tonight's Sporting Life Accumulator:

Burton 0-3 ASTON VILLA

MIDDLESBROUGH 0-1 Norwich

Oldham 0-0 PETERBOROUGH

CRAWLEY 1-1 Newport

Fear not, Boro are experts at getting themselves out of sticky spots. Dare I say, I would have taken this before a ball was kicked?

HALF-TIME

2030: Chance for Leroy Sane, which he makes all for himself with a lovely run but his shot is just wide of the mark.

Meanwhile, Liverpool burst forward in numbers and somehow conspire to miss despite having four on two. Henderson's low ball is first missed by Mane and then slotted back across goal by Salah. There are more goals in this one.

2028: Bad news Acca fans - Crawley have conceded. Bad time to concede just before the break. But all is not lost, far from it.

Besiktas double their lead over RB Leipzig and it's Anderson Talisca with a powerful header.

2026: This man can finish, alright. Sky Bet have enhanced the odds on Coutinho scoring a brace from 3/1 to 9/2.

2025: Chance missed by Firmino who, whisper it quietly, I really do not rate in front of goal. He's just not a centre forward is he? It's not his fault, but he's playing centre forward for Liverpool. Anyway, he should have scored.

2023: GOAL! APOEL Nicosia 0-1 Tottenham - It's been oh so quiet in the first half for Spurs but Harry Kane doesn't need more than a single chance and he slots home under the goalkeeper having found himself goal side of his man. Hint of offside, but I've yet to see the definitive angle.

2022: Shakthar having a good spell against Man City but the deadlock is still to be broken at the Etihad.

Goals for Sevilla, who lead Maribor 2-0, and Cardiff (also 2-0 v Leeds), elsewhere.

2016: GOALS! Spartak Moscow 1-1 Liverpool - It's Philippe Coutinho and a beautifully-worked goal from the Brazil star. One-two with Mane and a clinical finish.

All in a blur, Aston Villa now lead 3-0 and Crawley are 1-0 in front against Newport County. That's good news, but there is still plenty of work to be done.

2015: Big chance at the Etihad and it's City on the front foot, Jesus feeding Kevin De Bruyne whose low shot fires just wide of the post.

2013: GOALS! It's 2-0 for Ipswich, Cardiff have taken the lead against Leeds and Sevilla lead Maribor 1-0. Meanwhile, no goals in Crawley v Newport or Oldham v Peterborough. Stand by, Acca followers...

2010: Liverpool think they've struck right back but Mane's header is ruled out for offside.

Liverpool are now 5/4 to win and Spartak can be backed at 2/1, with the draw 5/2. Click on the image below for all of Sky Bet's live odds and offers.

Liverpool's Sadio Mane
Liverpool's Sadio Mane

2008: GOAL! Spartak Moscow 1-0 Liverpool. The Russian side lead through Fernando. It looks a stunning direct free-kick at first glance, and it certainly didn't take a deflection on the way through, but Karius probably won't want to watch the replay many times tomorrow. It just wasn't in the corner and he'll surely feel he could have done better there.

2005: I'm not ignoring Liverpool and Spurs I promise. The Reds have just fashioned their best chance of the half as Mane's brilliant cross from the left if right onto the head of Firmino, whose effort is just too close to the goalkeeper and parried away.

2003: GOAL! Real Madrid lead and it's Gareth Bale with a pearler. What a lovely goal from the Welshman and even Ronaldo is congratulating him after meeting a cross from the right with a first-time, left-foot, side-foot volley into the top corner. Splendid work as Real go 1/2 favourites for victory.

2001: GOAL! Villa on the rampage. They are 2-0 up and it's two for Albert Adomah.

1959: Sergio Ramos is a lucky man for Real Madrid as he deflects one off the line with his hand. I'm not buying that was 'too close for him to move out of the way'... not one bit.

1958: GOALS! Good news and bad news. Aston Villa lead 1-0 at Burton but fellow Sporting Life Accumulator selection Middlesbrough are behind at home to Norwich.

1956: Goal for Besiktas and it's Ryan Babel - remember him?! The former Liverpool man, who has been enjoying a good start to the season, puts the Turkish side ahead with a neat finish from just inside the area. Real Madrid look threatening against Dortmund in Germany.

1954 At the Etihad, Jesus gets his first sniff of goal but Man City but it's no more than that and Shakhtar clear the danger.

1952: Meanwhile, the first goal in Europe tonight as Napoli lead Feyenoor through Lorenzo Insigne's low, right-foot drive.

1950: Couple of goals in Sky Bet League Two with Notts County and Colchester both leading away from home, while of more significance is that Nick Hext's tips Ipswich lead early on against Sunderland in the Championship. Martyn Waghorn the man on target.

1948: Early chance for Tottenham's Son as Spurs look to expert their superiority early on. The Premier League side have started on the front foot, while Napoli have had a clear penalty appeal turned away in their game at home to Feyenoor. Dries Mertens the man felled, but nothing doing.

KICK-OFF: Twitter explodes as every team under the sun tells their loyal followers that football has indeed begun, as scheduled. Good luck with your wagers one and all.

1938: Don't forget about the Crowd Boost Accumulator which is now up to 5/1. It's a win treble on Liverpool, Man City and Real Madrid, courtesy of our good friends Sky Bet.

Spartak Moscow forward Quincy Promes
Spartak Moscow's Quincy Promes could be a menace from set-pieces

1910: And what of Spurs? Christian Eriksen is ill, Dele Alli and Jan Vertonghen are suspended and Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama are injured. So it's obviously a weakened side from what we've come to expect from Mauricio Pochettino's side.

There's enough depth in the squad to field a strong-looking team, with Harry Kane leading the line and ably supported by Heung-Min Son, who really impressed against Dortmund at Wembley.

Little Harry Winks gets his second start of the season after featuring in the EFL Cup win over Barnsley but the bench looks a bit thin in terms of quality barring Fernando Llorente and it could be interesting if APOEL are able to keep them quiet for the first half.

1900: Man City have made a brilliant start to the Premier League season but before we all get a little carried away, it's worth recalling we were in a similar situation before that mad 3-3 draw with Celtic last year. It all went a bit Pete Tong following that European disappointment - which came on September 28 2016.

They have a trip to Chelsea coming up on Saturday so it's clearly a testing week - something Guardiola will no doubt have been hammering home in his preparation for this evening's visit of Shakhtar.

1850: The most interesting match of the night is one I've yet to mention and there's a bet to be had, namely Real Madrid to beat Dortmund. Granted, it's not an exciting price but odds-on quotes about Real Madrid to win a football match is a rare thing indeed.

They may have made a troubled start to their LaLiga campaign - they sit sixth in the table - but this competition tends to bring out the best in them and with all due respect to Dortmund, they gifted Tottenham loads of chances in their first game and didn't get away with it.

The German side won 6-1 at the weekend and have scored 14 goals in their last three games, but they were a bit flattered against Monchengladbach, having been opened up on several occasions on the break, and obviously face a step up in class here.

I'm nailing my colours to Madrid tonight - you can get all the live odds and pre-match Price Boosts right here.

1842: Well, suddenly David John's over 3.5 goals double is making perfect sense. Jesus and Aguero both in Man City's attack, while Liverpool have opted to fire all their available bullets with Coutinho, Salah, Mane and Firmino all in the XI. In other news, Karius keeps his Champions League spot after playing from the start against Sevilla. Simon Mignolet did save another penalty at the weekend, but he's very 'droppable', isn't he?

1841: Spurs team to play APOEL Nicosia: Lloris, Trippier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Davies, Aurier, Dier, Winks, Sissoko, Son, Kane.

1840: Liverpool team to play Spartak Moscow: Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Matip, Moreno, Henderson, Can, Coutinho, Salah, Mane, Firmino.

1839: Man City team to play Shakhtar Donetsk: Ederson. Walker, Stones, Aguero, De Bruyne, Delph, Sane, Silva (C), Fernandinho, Otamendi, G Jesus.

As a fully paid-up member of the Leroy Sane appreciation society, I feel compelled to bring you this lovely little montage...

1838: Having a bet in the Sky Bet EFL tonight? You may or may not have heard, but the Sporting Life Accumulator got the monkey off its back with a 33/1 the other weekend and while tonight's offering isn't quite so ambitious, it's a 20/1 four-fold and if you log in to our site then you receive an extra boost to 22/1 with Sky Bet - click here to take advantage of the enhanced Acca odds.

There's also Nick Hext's more in-depth preview to soak up. He makes a solid case for Ipswich to win at home to struggling Sunderland and the Tractor Boys are currently 7/5 with Sky Bet to get the job done at Portman Road.

1830: We've also had a word with Soccer Special pundit Charlie Nicholas ahead of tonight's European games.

It almost goes without saying but he's quite keen on Man City scoring lots and lots of goals. His exotic Sky Bet RequestABet on the game weighs in at 40/1, while his APOEL Nicosia v Spurs 'RAB' is, brace yourself, 200/1. I know. It features Toby Alderweireld to get on the scoresheet and both teams to score.

1825: As far as tips for tonight go, we're not short of previews and the first port of call has to be our very own David John's double on over 3.5 goals in both Spartak Moscow v Liverpool and Man City v Shakhtar Donetsk.

It's officially matchday two in the group stages of the Champions League - featuring Tottenham, Manchester City and Liverpool all in action - while the Sky Sports clash between Cardiff and Leeds is one of the star attractions in a full programme of Sky Bet EFL games.
