Christian Eriksen may well be a big outsider to win the PFA Player of the Year but he's being hailed as one of the best playmakers in the world.
The Dane has made a stunning start to the Premier League season, contributing three assists and two goals already while during the 2016/17 campaign he ended up with 15 assists, which was second only to Manchester City's Kevin de Bruyne.
Sky Bet make Eriksen 33/1 to win the PFA Player of the Year with over 15 rivals ahead of him in the betting including 11/2 favourite de Bruyne, Harry Kane (9/1), Romelu Lukaku (9/1), Alvaro Morata (10/1) and Eden Hazard (16/1).
But Spurs team-mate Jan Vertonghen believes the 25-year-old, who moved to White Hart Lane in 2013, can now be considered a world beater now that he's adding consistency to his undoubted creative talents.
He said: "I believe so, yeah. I think Christian has made unbelievable progress. I've known him for many years and he's always been a great talent, a great player but in the last two seasons he's made great progress.
"Everyone always said that you have to be the best playmaker in the world with his quality and I think definitely the last years have been big, big steps forward.
"He's scoring goals and giving assists and even when he drops a line, what he did for us in a couple of games, he does very well. Christian, especially in the last two seasons, has been enormous."
