Carabao Cup upsets? Charlie Nicholas thinks Liverpool, Burnley, Stoke and Crystal Palace are heading out on Tuesday

Charlie Nicholas provides us with his Carabao Cup predictions, backing Leicester, Bristol City, Leeds and Huddersfield all to cause upsets.

It's 42/1 with Sky Bet that the four underdogs all progress to the next round but if you're feeling even bolder you can back them all to do so in normal time at a whopping 268/1!

Leicester will host Liverpool on Tuesday night, live Sky Sports Football, where we will also see Burton travel to Manchester United on Wednesday night.

While Charlie struggles to see an upset at Old Trafford, he does forecast the odds being overturned in four other ties, starting at the King Power Stadium.

Here are his fancies from the 16 ties...

Leicester v Liverpool (Tuesday 1945 BST, live on Sky Sports Football)

When I was looking at my Super 6 selections, this is the one that stood out at me as a potential upset.

Leicester have had a tough start but have been playing well and Jamie Vardy should have scored a winner at Huddersfield, but he missed a sitter.

I covered Liverpool at the weekend and I was baffled by Jurgen Klopp's seven changes. They looked defensively vulnerable again and could have lost the game when Ben Mee went agonisingly close in the dying stages.

Other than Liverpool's reputation, I really don't see this as an upset, especially as I'm inclined to think they will make another six or seven changes, with Ben Woodburn and the other young guys coming in.

This is a good time for Kelechi Iheanacho to come good. He's in danger of being the next Saido Berahino in terms of just going through the motions and needs to seize his chance in games like this.

Charlie predicts: Leicester to win 2-1 and Iheanacho to score first (35/1 with Sky Bet)

Burnley v Leeds (Tuesday, 1945 BST)

I could see Leeds being awkward and dragging this one to penalties, when it becomes a lottery, so I'm going for an upset here as well.

It always surprises me that clubs don't go for a cup when they are going well, but I can't see Sean Dyche going full strength here and I'm not sure who Burnley bring in at the back, so they should be vulnerable.

Leeds are a decent side and have started well. I see it being a feisty affair and I can see both teams having a go and their defensive changes giving us plenty of goals.

Charlie predicts: Leeds to win on penalties (12/1 with Sky Bet)

Bristol City v Stoke (Tuesday, 1945 BST)

Bristol City score plenty of goals, with Bobby Reid already netting seven times this season, and their home fans will be thirsty for a nice scalp, so they're are a dangerous team to visit even at full strength.

Stoke on the other hand never seem too fussed about having a go in the cup. Mark Hughes will make a lot of changes because he's got players who he needs to get more out of.

I can see them going out early again and, while there will be a bit of disappointment afterwards, their focus will be on trying to beat Chelsea in front of their own fans on Saturday.

Charlie predicts: 2-1 and Reid to score first (40/1 with Sky Bet)

Crystal Palace v Huddersfield (Tuesday, 1945 BST)

I don't quite know why Palace are favourites and I see they are actually odds-on with Sky Bet, which is baffling given their problems.

What is Hodgson going to try here? Will he give a few other players a chance? As he didn't really change much on Saturday and the outcome was the same as under Frank de Boer.

What he needs to build is a defensive structure ahead of his next three league games, when they visit the two Manchester clubs before hosting Chelsea, then they need to work out how they can get Christian Benteke scoring.

He might think they need some organisation but I think this could be another negative distraction, but I have no sympathy for Palace at all because of how they behaved.

Huddersfield went there at the start of the season and got a very positive result and I see absolutely no reason why they can't do the same here, especially given David Wagner doesn't have a huge group to rotate.

Charlie predicts: 1-2 and Laurent Depoitre to score first (55/1 with Sky Bet)

Manchester United v Burton (Wednesday 1945 BST, live on Sky Sports Football)

Burton will turn up, be well organised, well drilled by Nigel Clough. They had a great result at the weekend as well in beating Fulham.

Manchester United will make plenty of chances but they just have so many quality options now, with the likes of Ander Herrera, Jesse Lingard, Michael Carrick and Antony Martial all ready to come in.

There's a good feeling around Old Trafford again. Are they playing brilliant? Not really, but they've got a confidence about them back at home.

Jose Mourinho won't want to see too many flicks again but I don't see anything other than a very comfortable United win.

Charlie predicts: 4-0 and Lingard to score first (25/1 with Sky Bet)
