Carabao Cup team news

Team news ahead of Bristol City v Manchester United and Chelsea v Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday night.

Wednesday December 20

Chelsea v Bournemouth (1945 GMT)

Sky Bet odds: Chelsea 3/10, Draw 17/4, Bournemouth 9/1

Chelsea left wing-back Marcos Alonso is suspended for Wednesday's Carabao Cup clash with Bournemouth, when Antonio Conte plans to give his peripheral players a chance.

Alonso picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in last Saturday's 1-0 win over Southampton and could be replaced by Kenedy, who played in the prior two rounds in the competition.

Ethan Ampadu could start alongside the likes of Danny Drinkwater and Michy Batshuayi, while Callum Hudson-Odoi and Dujon Sterling could also be involved, but Charly Musonda (groin) and David Luiz (knee) are out.

Bournemouth will be without Charlie Daniels and Joshua King at Stamford Bridge.

Daniels (groin) and King (hamstring) both picked up injuries in the Cherries' heavy home defeat against Liverpool last weekend, but could be available for the trip to Manchester City on Saturday.

Striker Callum Wilson may feature, but Brad Smith (hip), Adam Federici and Tyrone Mings (both back) are out.

Chelsea (from): Courtois, Caballero, Rudiger, Alonso, Fabregas, Drinkwater, Kante, Morata, Hazard, Pedro, Bakayoko, Moses, Kenedy, Zappacosta, Willian, Batshuayi, Cahill, Christensen, Azpilicueta, Clarke-Salter, Sterling, Eduardo, Ampadu, Hudson-Odoi.

Bournemouth (from): Begovic, S Cook, Francis, Ake, Surman, L Cook, Fraser, Stanislas, Defoe, Boruc, Simpson, Gosling, Arter, Afobe, Ibe, Wilson, A Smith.

Right-back Antonio Valencia is doubtful for Manchester United's Carabao Cup quarter-final at Bristol City with a hamstring injury.

Midfielder Paul Pogba is available again after suspension and forward Henrikh Mkhitaryan could be recalled as manager Jose Mourinho considers making changes against the Championship club.

Midfielders Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini, and defender Eric Bailly remain on the sidelines.

Bristol City's Milan Djuric will not feature in the tie. The 27-year-old forward has been ruled out for three to five weeks by groin surgery.

Famara Diedhiou (knee), Callum O'Dowda (ankle), Jens Hegeler (knee), Gary O'Neil (knee) and Eros Pisano (hamstring) are also injured, while Cauley Woodrow and Jonathan Leko are both cup-tied.

Boss Lee Johnson has said there "might be one or two" alterations in personnel made to his team but "it is certainly not going to be wholesale changes", and that there will be "three or four under-23s" on the bench.

Man Utd (from): De Gea, Romero, Jones, Smalling, Lindelof, Young, Rojo, Shaw, Blind, Tuanzebe, Darmian, McTominay, Pogba, Herrera, Matic, Lingard, Martial, Rashford, Mata, Mkhitaryan, Lukaku, Ibrahimovic.
