South Africa wrap-up ODI series with 71-run victory over Sri Lanka

South Africa moved into an unassailable 3-0 lead in their one-day international series against Sri Lanka courtesy of a 71-run rain-affected victory in Durban.

Quinton De Kock thumped 121 from only 108 balls to underpin the Proteas' 331 for five after they were invited to bat first in an innings notable for the ODI bow of ambidextrous Sri Lanka spinner Kamindu Mendis (one for 45).

Sri Lanka were 75 for two in their reply when the heavens opened, forcing a lengthy delay that meant the tourists were left with a Duckworth-Lewis-Stern target of 193 from 24 overs.

Kusal Mendis cracked 41 off 31 balls but his efforts were in vain as the tourists could only reach 121 for five.
