Durham have announced overseas star Tom Latham is set to return to the county next season.
The 25-year-old New Zealand batsman averaged 63.66 in four Specsavers County Championship games and scored 139 runs in his five NatWest T20 Blast matches after joining the north-east county for the second part of the campaign.
Latham will miss Durham's final Division Two game of the season against promotion-chasing Worcestershire next week as he prepares for New Zealand's one-day and T20 series in India but is set to return to Chester-le-Street for the entire 2018 campaign.
Durham, who this week announced T20 captain Paul Coughlin will leave for Nottinghamshire next season, said "the deal is subject to his New Zealand duties but should be concluded over the next few days".
Head coach Jon Lewis said: "Tom has made a fantastic contribution on and off the field during his time here at Durham. His performances with the bat have been excellent and he is a big influence in the dressing room.
"Myself and the players are delighted that he will be returning for the entire 2018 campaign."
