Skipper Virat Kohli struck an unbeaten 160 as India thumped South Africa in the third one-day international in Cape Town and went 3-0 up in the six-match series.

Kedar Jadhav and Yuzvendra Chahal also starred in a 124-run victory, taking four wickets apiece.

After the tourists were put in to bat, Kohli shared a second-wicket partnership of 140 with Shikhar Dhawan (76) en route to his second century of the series and 34th ODI ton in all.

India finished their innings on 303 for six - scoring 47 in the final five overs - and Jadhav and Chahal then took centre-stage.

They posted figures of four for 23 and four for 46 respectively as the home side, for whom JP Duminy top-scored with 51, were bowled out for 179.

The fourth ODI is in Johannesburg on Saturday.
