Livingston brother and sister pair Sinead and John Kerr were happy with a final ice dancing finishing position of 10th after their free dance at Palavela.
The pair had headed into the Games with one eye on Vancouver in four years' time and admitted a top-10 finish was the limit of their realistic ambitions.
Sinead said: "Our dream is to reach the top 10 and we've done it. We've never skated that programme better.
"The buzz we got from the crowd was amazing. We put everything into it and it is something we will never forget."
The event was won by Tatiana Navka and Roman Kostomarov, whose triumph means Russia have taken all three figure skating gold medals so far.
Irina Slutskaya will bid to complete a clean sweep for the nation later in the week.
The Russian's score of 200.64pts was more than four points better than Americans Tanith Belbin and Benjamin Agosto.
Elena Grushina and Ruslan Goncharov of Ukraine took bronze.
