Zoe Gillings continued Great Britain's fine form in the Winter Olympics in Turin by qualifying for Friday's women's snowboard cross quarter-finals at Bardonecchia.
The former World Cup winner endured a disastrous first run in which she placed 22nd and second last of the field, but recovered to finish 11th on her second run.
It was enough to put Gillings through to the exciting final stages in which four boarders blaze down the track together with the top two moving through to the semi-finals.
But Gillings' challenge ended at the quarter-final stage as she took a tumble during her run to finish fourth out of four and claim a final finishing position of 15th.
Rory Morrish battled through a blizzard to finish 88th in the men's 15km classical cross-country, in Ireland's introduction to the 2006 Winter Games.
