Svetlana Kuznetsova handed Agnieszka Radwanska her first taste of defeat in a WTA Tour final with a 6-2 6-4 triumph in the China Open.
It is the second time the Russian has won the tournament, upgraded this year to one of the 'crown jewel' events, while she has also been runner-up on two occasions.
It was a straight-forward final for the French Open champion after she took the 20-year-old's first service game, completing a dominant win in 79 minutes over her 12th-ranked opponent.
"I guess I just like to play here," said Kuznetsova, who has already booked her place in the season-ending championship in Doha later this month.
"I have some different luck here and definitely like the atmosphere. The support is great.
"Normally I feel tired at the end of the season but now I feel great."
Radwanska, who had won on each of her three previous final appearances, added: "Svetlana is a great player - she was just too good tonight.
"She had nothing to lose, she's already in Doha so she was very comfortable tonight."
