Melinda Czink came back from a set down to beat Lucie Safarova in the final of the Bell Challenge in Quebec and claim her first WTA Tour crown.
The Hungarian, seeded five, claimed a 4-6 6-3 7-5 triumph in just her second career final having been runner-up to Ana Ivanovic in Canberra way back in 2005.
Czink had knocked out home hope Aleksandra Wozniak in the semi-finals although her dream of capturing the title on Sunday took a knocking when her Czech opponent won the first set.
But having levelled up the scores, Czink earned the decisive break in the decider for a 6-5 lead and then served out the match with a love game.
"It feels great," said the 26-year-old. "I haven't really processed it yet but I will.
"I went match by match this week. This was the toughest match this week. I had to take some risks on her serve today - sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. We really pushed each other, and I'm happy I could come out the winner."
