Dinara Safina fought back from a set down to win her third WTA Tour title of the season at the Banka Koper Slovenia Open.
The world number one beat defending champion Sara Errani 6-7 (7-5) 6-1 7-5 in Sunday's final.
Safina was made to work hard in a match that lasted just shy of three hours in Portoroz.
Errani, who had lost only eight games en route to the final, was not ready to let her title go without a fight.
However, as both players struggled to hold serve, it was the Italian who cracked in the closing stages of the deciding set.
