Elena Dementieva won her second title of 2009 at the Medibank International on Friday.
Dementieva came out on top in an all-Russian final with a 6-3 2-6 6-1 win over Dinara Safina.
She will now go into next week's Australian Open as the form player after notching up 10 consecutive victories in Auckland and Sydney, losing just two sets in the process.
Dementieva broke twice to take the opening set, but Safina responded with a pair of breaks in the second to level the match.
Dementieva, who beat Safina to claim the gold medal at the Beijing Olympics last year, then regained the momentum in the decider, hitting a total of 33 winners to wrap up her 13th WTA Tour title.
It was the 10th meeting between the two Russians, with victory allowing Dementieva to level their head-to-head record at 5-5.
