Serena Williams claimed her fifth Sony Ericsson Open title in Miami on Saturday thanks to a 6-1 5-7 6-3 victory over Jelena Jankovic.
The former world number one defeated the fourth seed to add to her victories at the tournament in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2007 and claim her second title of the season.
Jankovic struggled early on, hitting just three winners and making 11 unforced errors, as Williams wrapped up the opening set inside half an hour.
And despite mounting a comeback with victory in the second the Serbian, who has been battling a cold all week, found her second serve increasingly exposed as the match progressed.
Williams claimed the 30th WTA tour title of her career by taking the deciding set 6-3.
