Justine Henin came from a break down in the final set to beat Svetlana Kuznetsova, win the Medibank International title and keep her winning streak intact.
The world number one won 4-6 6-2 6-4 in Sydney to stretch her unbeaten run to 28 matches.
The victory - Henin's 16th against Kuznetsova in 18 matches - also brought the Belgian star her 40th WTA Tour title.
She has not lost since the Wimbledon semi-finals in July and will start next week's Australian Open as the hot favourite.
However, this match was not straightforward for Henin as she quickly found herself trailing 4-0 in the first set.
The 25-year-old rallied back to tie the first set at 4-4, but Kuznetsova won the final two games to take a one-set lead.
Henin fought back in the second, however, landing two break points to send the match to a decisive third set.
Kuznetsova appeared to be on her way to the title, taking a commanding 3-0 lead in the final set.
But Henin was once again too much for the world number two as she stormed back to claim victory.
