Justine Henin won her fourth successive title on Sunday thanks to a 6-4 6-4 triumph over Tatiana Golovin in the final of the Zurich Open.
It was the ninth title of the season and 38th of her career for Henin, who extended her winning streak to 20 matches.
She has not lost since the defeat to Marion Bartoli in the Wimbledon semi-finals this summer.
"It's been the best season of my career and to win my ninth title of the year is pretty amazing," Henin said.
Henin's previous title came two weeks ago at Stuttgart when she also defeated Golovin.
The unseeded Golovin was chasing her third title of the season. The 19-year-old Frenchwoman had reached the final by beating Italy's Francesca Schiavone in the last four on Saturday.
After being pushed to three sets in the last four by Nicole Vaidisova, Henin found herself 3-1 down against Golovin early on.
But she gathered herself, converting a pair of breaks to take a 5-4 lead before serving out the set.
Henin then used another break to start the second set, before wearing down Golovin en route to winning another trophy.
"She's absolutely the best," Golovin said of her opponent.
