Jelena Jankovic finally put her Charleston demons behind her by coasting to a 6-2 6-2 victory over Dinara Safina in the final of the Family Circle Cup.
The second seed at this year's tournament, Jankovic had struggled at the event in previous years, failing to advance beyond the second round in her four trips to the claycourt event.
But the Serbian celebrated her second title of the year and third of her career by easing past fourth seed Safina in just 71 minutes on Sunday.
Jankovic broke her Russian opponent's serve three times en route to winning the first set.
She also won the first two games of the second set before Safina, who was seeking her second title of the year, fought back.
Safina recorded a break in the third game, then held serve in the fourth to level the set at 2-2.
But it was as good as it got for the Russian as Jankovic seized control from there on.
Jankovic converted six of her 10 break-points during the match, while Safina had three opportunities to break, making the most of two of them.
