Kim Clijsters wrapped up her comeback from injury in outstanding fashion by winning the Gaz de France Stars tournament in Hasselt.
The top seed and local favourite, Clijsters successfully defended her title with a 6-3 3-6 6-4 victory over Estonian Kaia Kanepi on Sunday.
Playing in her first event in more than two months because of a wrist injury, Clijsters strolled through her early matches in this Tier III event before posting a three-set win over Russian Vera Zvonareva on Saturday.
Due to the injury, the 23-year-old Clijsters was unable to try and defend her crown at the US Open in August.
However, Clijsters appears in form to challenge for next week's WTA Tour Championships in Madrid after collecting her third title of the year and 33rd of her career.
A qualifier, Kanepi was playing in her first career final. The 21-year-old upset number two Francesca Schiavone of Italy in the quarter-finals on Friday.
