Vera Zvonareva won the Western & Southern Financial Group Women's Open after beating Katarina Srebotnik 6-2 6-4 in the final.
After the first four games of the opening set had gone with serve the Russian broke the fourth seed in the fifth game and the took control to take the set in 26 minutes.
Zvonareva took control early on in the second set but Srebotnik broke back and then saved a match point at 5-3.
The 22-year-old held serve in the next game win in under an hour. The victory saw the Russian claim her second title of the year and fifth career crown.
"I had a few less errors than her so that helped," said Zvonareva. "But I'd like to congratulate Katarina for reaching the final, she really did great this week."
