Maria Sharapova cruised to victory in the final of the Pacific Life Open in Indian Wells.
The third seed crushed fellow Russian Elena Dementieva 6-1 6-2 after mastering the blustery conditions.
Sharapova broke her opponent's weak serve all four times in the lopsided opening set.
Dementieva, who made the final by rallying from 6-2 5-2 down to defeat top seed Justine Henin-Hardenne, tried to repeat the effort but there was no comeback.
The fourth seed was up a break at 2-1 in the second set but Sharapova broke back and opened a 4-2 advantage when the 24-year-old double-faulted away the sixth game.
The gap widened to 5-2 after Sharapova lifted a superb topspin backhand lob winner on game point, and the 2004 Wimbledon champion converted her second match point when Dementieva netted a backhand for her 37th unforced error.
It was the first all-Russian final since the Kremlin Cup in Moscow in October 2004, when Anastasia Myskina beat Dementieva.
"It was so tough," Sharapova said. "You can be playing great tennis and you come out and you can be looking like garbage.
"You just never know, and I tried to hang in there. You just never know if the ball is going to go in or out, especially on serve."
